After a night of spring breeze, it had halved before it gradually calmed down and returned to silence.
Because there were still matters to attend to today, James had set an alarm, but probably because he was preoccupied with thoughts, he woke up before it even rang.
Fearing that the alarm would disturb Jane when it went off, James canceled it ahead of time.
He lay back down and cuddled his petite wife in his arms for a while before he planned to get up, but he hadn't expected Jane to hold onto him so tightly even in her sleep.
Her hands were tightly wrapped around his waist, and her small face was almost buried in his chest as she slept soundly.
So if James wanted to get up, he would have to pry her hands open.
James bent down and kissed Jane's forehead, still not awake, and then started gently tugging at her hands.
But with this tug, her grip tightened even more.
James then chuckled softly, "Woken up and still pretending to sleep? Let go, I need to get up."
