William Frans clearly had no good intentions, and she wasn't about to naively fall for his trap.
"You're lecturing me about rules? Zoe, have you lost your mind? In the Investment Department, do you still dare to oppose me?" William's hand slapped the table.
"I'm telling you, if you don't agree to go out for this meal with me today, I can do more than just fire you. I can get Charles White fired too!"
"I am myself, and he is himself. Charles White has already been confirmed in his position, and he hasn't done anything wrong; you can't fire him," Zoe said through gritted teeth.
"Of course he's at fault." William stood up from his office chair, leaned on the table with both hands, and said with a smirk.
"Don't think I don't know, the two of you have something going on behind the scenes—relationship unclear. The Group has enforced a rule against office romances within the same department, especially for newcomers!"
