Chapter 1458 - Zygarde’s Reinforcement

After Giratina rescued Yuga, it immediately intercepted Dialga, giving the beleaguered Lunala a brief moment to catch its breath.

Yuga rode Latios and flew to the side of Florges and Latias, only to see the two of them lying helplessly in the wheat field in a miserable state, unable to move even a little. Latias, in particular, had already fallen into unconsciousness.

Fortunately, Florges had activated Grassy Terrain in advance, and the endless stream of Grass-type energy in the wheat field was still sustaining their vitality.

However, although Grassy Terrain's healing effect lasted a long time, its healing amount was too low. The recovery speed of the two Pokémon was agonizingly slow.

Seeing their bodies covered in wounds, Yuga felt intense heartache. Even Latios whimpered anxiously toward Latias, its voice full of worry.

Yuga couldn't care about anything else. He directly took out two Max Revive and fed them to the injured Pokémon, then used his own healing ability to help them quickly absorb the medicinal power of Max Revive.

Although the injuries of the two Pokémon had not yet reached the point of being near death and could be slowly nursed back to health, the speed would be too slow, and it would be a form of torture for the two Pokémon. So even though using Max Revive was not cost-effective, Yuga didn't care about that gain or loss.

Once the medicinal power of the Max Revive had taken full effect, the wounds on the two Pokémon gradually disappeared, and the pained expressions on their faces faded as well. To allow them to recover in peace, Yuga recalled them back into their Poké Balls—after all, they wouldn't be of much help at the moment.

After treating Florges and Latias, Yuga comforted Latios, saying, "Don't worry, after eating Max Revive, Latias will be fine."

Latios looked at Yuga gratefully.

Yuga continued, "You're pretty badly hurt too. Let me heal you."

Latios's injuries were not as severe as those of Florges and Latias, but its body was still covered with wounds of varying severity.

Now that Dialga and Palkia were being held off by Giratina and Lunala, he could finally seize the opportunity to help Latios recover. Otherwise, in the next battle, Latios might not be able to hold on.

Although Giratina was now helping, Lunala's strength was still inferior to Palkia's and Dialga's. Their side might not necessarily gain the upper hand. In a critical moment, Latios might still need to fight.

Latios didn't refuse and lowered its body slightly to make it easier for Yuga to treat it.

Latios didn't need a Max Revive. Yuga first used some potion to treat Latios's wounds, then used his healing ability.

Since Latios hadn't fallen unconscious like Latias, it cooperated during the treatment by using Recover on itself. With the combination of three methods, its injuries recovered by more than half in an instant.

Seeing Yuga wholeheartedly treating its wounds, and thinking about how Yuga had just used precious Max Revive on its sister without hesitation, Latios was deeply moved.

Back then, the siblings had followed King Robi, participating in countless battles big and small, but King Robi had never treated them with such care and caution.

Pokémon are indeed loyal to their Trainers, but accordingly, they also hope to be met with the same degree of care from their Trainers. King Robi clearly hadn't done that—after all, he had even used his Golurk, who had fought alongside him through thick and thin, as material for resurrection and eternal life.

This is the difference between people. When Latios compared Yuga with King Robi, the gap between the two instantly became apparent.

In ancient times, people referred to Pokémon as "magical beasts," and Trainers were called "Beast Tamers" or "Magic Beast Users." From the naming alone, one could see the difference: ancient people mostly regarded magical beasts as tools and subordinates, while modern Trainers mostly see Pokémon as partners.

This is the difference in the beliefs held by the two eras.

Latias and Latios had lived in the underground palace for hundreds of years, isolated from the world, so they naturally did not know about the changes that had taken place in the Trainer profession from ancient times to the present. However, that did not stop them from getting a glimpse of the bigger picture through the contrast between Yuga and King Robi.

The modern Trainer's philosophy of how to interact with Pokémon was proposed and advocated by the League, and the fundamental reason behind it lay in the cooperation and alliance between the League and many Order-aligned Legendary Pokémon.

After finishing healing Latios, Yuga asked, "How do you feel? Is there anywhere that still feels uncomfortable?"

Latias shook her head. Her gaze flickered slightly as she looked at Yuga, and an indescribable change quietly took place in their relationship.

Seeing that Latios was indeed all right, Yuga looked up at the sky. Giratina was facing Dialga, Lunala was up against Palkia — the four first-tier deities were locked in an intense battle. The remaining elders of the Transcendence Clan were completely unable to intervene anymore and had all fled to the side, watching the ongoing battle anxiously.

The battle between the four Legendary Pokémon had caused the farmland, villages, rivers, and other features of the Arche Valley to shatter and fall into ruin. However, the spatial collapse had finally come to a halt.

In order to calm the conflict between Dialga and Palkia, Giratina had been trying to communicate with Dialga. But Dialga, who had long lost its rationality, could no longer listen to anything. Seeing Giratina constantly getting in its way, it launched a fierce attack on it.

The Roar of Time surged forth, colliding violently into Giratina. Giratina, seeing that Dialga was so unresponsive to reason, also grew furious and suddenly vanished.

This was its signature move — Shadow Force.

Giratina's sudden disappearance made Dialga pause for an instant. In that brief moment, Giratina silently reappeared above it and crashed headfirst into its waist.

"Rooooar~"

With a howl of pain, Dialga fell toward the ground, shaking the earth violently upon impact.

Giratina swiftly descended from the sky and stomped on Dialga. Dialga raised its head and let out another Roar of Time, which struck Giratina and knocked it back.

As Dialga attempted to rise into the air, Giratina swung its claws and slammed it back into the crater with Dragon Claw.

This made Dialga even more enraged. Its eyes burned red, and the blue gem on its chest flashed with light. The white armor on its back suddenly extended, and the aura around its body sharply intensified.

It opened its mouth and fired a crimson meteor into the sky. As soon as the meteor ascended, it exploded, and countless massive flaming rocks rained down on Giratina.

Giratina remained calm in the face of this attack. Suddenly, golden lightning erupted all over its body, transforming into serpents of thunder that shot out and shattered every incoming meteor one by one.

Compared to the evenly matched fight between Giratina and Dialga, the battle between Lunala and Palkia was much more difficult.

In a direct contest of strength, the newly awakened Lunala was naturally no match for the ancient deity Palkia. Fortunately, it excelled at teleportation, which barely allowed it to keep Palkia occupied.

Palkia continuously created spatial cages in an attempt to trap Lunala. But as a Psychic-type Pokémon, Lunala possessed extremely keen senses and was able to teleport away at the precise moment the spatial cages formed.

Dodging Palkia's Spacial Rend once again with a teleport, Lunala appeared behind it and launched a Moonblast.

Sensing something, Palkia abruptly turned around and fired a Hydro Pump from its mouth, shattering the Moonblast instantly.

Lunala had no desire for prolonged combat. Once it missed its strike, it vanished from its original spot in the next second.

But for an existence of Palkia's level, its battle instincts were incredibly terrifying. With a casual wave of its hand, it slashed out a Spatial Blade in one direction—right where Lunala had just reappeared, and it struck her directly.

Lunala let out a miserable cry as she crashed into a lake below. The lake water surged and overflowed, instantly flooding the surrounding farmland.

However, the elders of the Transcendence Clan watching the battle had no time or mental space to worry about that. All of them stared nervously at Lunala, fearing that she might be taken down by Palkia just like that.

If Lunala were defeated, then Giratina would undoubtedly be unable to hold on alone, and the destruction of the Valley of Creation would become inevitable!

Soaked all over, Lunala flew up from the lake and began using the healing move Moonlight. But Palkia had no intention of giving her the opportunity to recover, and once again launched a Spacial Rend at her.

Just as the elders of the Transcendence Clan were about to command their Pokémon to assist Lunala, Yuga and Latios arrived in time. Yuga used healing energy to help Lunala regain stamina, while Latios blocked the Spacial Rend with his signature move Luster Purge.

The irrational Palkia, seeing an extra opponent, launched a frenzied and indiscriminate assault, firing Water Pulses in all directions like it didn't cost anything.

Fortunately, Lunala's Moonlight finished just in time, and most of her stamina was restored. She quickly used Wide Guard to block all of Palkia's attacks.

Palkia didn't care whether its attacks were effective or not—it just kept throwing out moves as if they were free.

Splash!

Finally, Lunala's Wide Guard shattered. She promptly used Teleport, vanishing from the spot with Yuga and Latios in tow.

The next second, the human and two Pokémon reappeared above Palkia. Lunala and Latios simultaneously launched Moongeist Beam and Luster Purge at it.

Palkia blocked the Moongeist Beam with Hydro Pump, but was struck by Luster Purge and fell into the same lake Lunala had crashed into earlier.

Ripples spread across the lake's surface, but Palkia remained submerged for a long time without re-emerging. Yuga, riding on Latios along with Lunala, descended slightly, trying to see what was going on.

Just as they approached the lake's surface, the water suddenly exploded violently. A massive wave instantly engulfed Yuga and the others, tossing them all into the lake.

As soon as Lunala hit the water, Palkia appeared and clutched her neck tightly with both hands, dragging her toward the depths of the lake.

Palkia was a Water-type Legendary Pokémon—it had no fear of drowning. But Lunala was a different story.

Underwater, Yuga was battered and disoriented by the churning waves. Fortunately, he clung tightly to Latias's back; otherwise, who knows where the current would have swept him?

Both Latias and Latios were adept swimmers, so after being plunged into the lake, they swiftly carried Yuga back to the surface. Thanks to them, he didn't drown.

Palkia's focus was entirely on Lunala, so it didn't bother to stop Latios from escaping.

"Wooo!!"

Lunala flapped her wings at the lake's surface, trying to break free from the water. But she was soon dragged back down by Palkia again.

"Latios!"

Yuga watched anxiously and urged Latios to hurry and save Lunala.

Latios's eyes flashed rapidly with purple light as its powerful psychic force fell onto the surface of the lake. Immediately, a massive amount of lake water was pulled out by it, and the water level of the lake dropped significantly at a speed visible to the naked eye.

But the lake was too large, and Latios couldn't drain all the water quickly in such a short time.

"Roar!"

Just then, everyone heard a deafening roar, and a giant serpent appeared not far from the lake.

"Zygarde!!!"

Yuga instantly recognized the identity of this Pokémon.

They saw Zygarde raise its tail and slam it fiercely onto the ground. The earth began to shake violently, and cracks formed beneath its tail, spreading all the way to the lake.

The surface of the lake was thus split in two, the cracks continuously expanding, eventually forming an abyss at the bottom of the lake. All the lake water rushed toward the abyss, and in an instant, the lake dried up, revealing Palkia and Lunala entangled together inside.

Zygarde had come to help!

Realizing this, Yuga and the elders were overjoyed.

Zygarde's attack wasn't over yet. Its entire body radiated golden light, the power of the earth began to gather toward it, and then a golden arrow thicker than a pillar shot straight toward Palkia.

This was its signature move: Land's Wrath.

Boom!!!

A loud explosion echoed as Palkia was struck precisely, and its hands, which had been entangled around Lunala, involuntarily loosened. Lunala then raised its wings and fiercely struck Palkia, sending it flying.

Now free, the enraged Lunala ascended rapidly, folded its wings, and dark light shimmered on them as it used the move Moongeist Beam to slam down on Palkia.

Zygarde's attack followed closely behind—again Land's Wrath—and it joined Lunala's Moongeist Beam in bombarding Palkia together.

Palkia let out a wretched scream and quickly flew into the sky. Both of its arms swung at the same time, and two Spacial Rends slashed respectively toward Lunala and Zygarde.

Lunala dodged using Teleport, but Zygarde wasn't afraid of Palkia at all. It swung its Dragon Tail and smacked away the space blades formed by the Spacial Rend, and then launched another Land's Wrath at Palkia.

However, this time Palkia didn't get hit. It agilely dodged it, but after suffering a combined assault from two Legendary Pokémon, it had taken serious damage and finally showed signs of fatigue, panting heavily.

Seeing this, Lunala and Zygarde looked at each other and decided to seize the advantage and press the attack.

Lunala's whole body radiated with multicolored light and it used Dazzling Gleam to charge toward Palkia. Palkia activated Outrage and charged right back.

Boom~

The two Pokémon were sent flying backward at the same time. Yuga timely used healing energy to restore Lunala's strength, while Zygarde, taking advantage of Palkia's faltering condition, attacked it again with Land's Wrath.

"Roar~"

A miserable cry rang out as Palkia fell from the sky.
