"I don't understand. What do you mean it's only a consumable, surely it has uses beyond just dragging one of the lords back into line right?" I asked with a frown. The being scoffed at that however "It's a good theory I'll grant you but flawed. This one here played the rules a bit with a loophole when she designed the chain. Normally divine treasures bear a single divinity and are indestructible save by the power of a far superior treasure or god. The goat created the three lake hermits as a sort of method for forging a pseudo divine treasure at her level that was just flawed enough that the rules didn't get broken."-
"The first flaw was she flat out removed the durability of the chain almost entirely. Even a normal pokemon could shatter it without much trouble. The second flaw was the thing served exactly one purpose, to control Palkia, Dialga and Giratina temporarily. Ironically this also meant that that Cyrus prick was doomed to fail anyways halfway to his goal. He'd break the world down and then get trapped in the void as the chains would have decayed away by that time."-
"The final flaw was that only a mortal could wield the chain. Anything divine that touched the thing would simply cause it to break immediately. As I said originally, a divine consumable." the being explained seriously. "I see, I kinda feel foolish for getting a chain made now." I said with a sigh. "After witnessing what you did you can't be blamed, to see the unmaking of another is a trauma most mortals would be driven mad by. Even a great many gods would balk in fear of it as well." Ar-ceus said gently.-
"Anywho lets talk about what's going on with your divinity and why you are stuck at the threshold of godhood." the being said dismissively. "So there is something wrong after all. I had my suspicions when I couldn't use a token to push my way forward anymore." I said with a grimace. "There is nothing wrong child. Yours is simply an unusual ascension that takes a different road than the one most gods travel to reach godhood." Ar-ceus says reassuringly. "You are being held back from ascending because there is no overarching domain to your divinity. Most gods gain a divinity by way of a single domain that they refine over and over until their divinity is ready to turn into a godhead thus letting them ascend swiftly."-
"You however more or less forced your divinity to grow and expand without any domain at all in charge. The solution to your problem is as a result both simple and hard at the same time while presenting a unique opportunity. You have to choose a single domain to bring all that chaos in your divinity under. This is an opportunity for you to skip mundane domains entirely and go straight for supreme domains such as creation, destruction, reality, that sort of thing."-
"Some are better, some are worse but that's all I can tell you since the rules prevent me from saying more on the domains." the being said seriously. I have to admit this information left me stunned for a few moments as I processed it. It was such a simple concept really but I likely never would have considered it normally if I hadn't been told. Not just about the domain I could choose but the fact that not having one was the whole issue stopping me from ascending to begin with.-
It made sense really as all gods were of some domain or other and that was universally true. The fact one couldn't become a god without a domain was as a result not surprising really. The "opportunity" the being spoke of DID surprise me however. Perhaps it was merely my lack of understanding on the subject since I wasn't a god myself yet but I had assumed that all new gods would have weaker or more basic domains. Unless they were born with something higher like with the three pillars or Ar-ceus that is.-
"I suppose all that remains is the plates then." I eventually said after processing the information I had received. "You may take them if you'd like. They've already served their purpose that they were originally created for and now serve no use beyond strengthening pokemon who share the typing with them." Ar-ceus said calmly and gently waved her hand with a ripple of energy moving through the air before vanishing. "It's done, the plates are now free to leave Sinnoh and travel the world." she said with a nod. "That simply?" I asked taken back by how casually it was done. -
"Indeed. You forget I am the supreme deity of this world, there is nothing within it beyond my reach." she said with a slightly pointed look that I understood immediately was a warning not to get any funny ideas. I took the warning at face value before I was dismissed by the two gods since my presence here no longer had any purpose. I didn't even have to walk all the way back down those long ass stairs as one second my foot was lowering on the first step and the next it was landing on the temple floor on top of Mt. Coronet.-
I looked back startled at this only to find the stairs gone and the view all around normal as if it was never there to begin with. I shrugged at this before taking a step forward while using my spatial manipulation to fold space so my single step brought me back to where I had left my pokemon before I went to speak to those two gods. Black smoke rose from the hiding place of my stuff with many red jagged eyes all over it and hissing mouths in strange locations within this cloud. I smiled at this rather than getting mad at the ghost.-
It took Hades all of two seconds to recognize me and all this hostility vanished like mist in the sunlight. His smoky form curled around me like an embrace from someone that you haven't seen in many years but missed dearly. This confused me as for what I had experienced I was only gone maybe a half a day and even that was stretching things a bit. It was only after I checked it's status page in the system that I realized I had likely been missing for far longer than I thought.
