In fact it wouldn't surprise me to learn that those fully aware of these details in the league saw me as the next Oak-like figure. Perhaps I hadn't contributed to the scientific community nearly as much but the things I have done more that set me on that level. Even more so that I was documented to possess multiple abilities with my total being unknown to all but myself and my pokemon. By comparison Oak was much less exceptional as he simply only possesses the Boost ability. "Why? What goal is so important that you are willing to sacrifice so much?" she asked with a lost look.-
"To be remembered forever. I don't fear death or hatred but being forgotten. Once you are forgotten by all you may as well have never existed and that terrifies me. On paper it sounds so easy to accomplish but it's probably one of the hardest things to pull off. Think of the Hisuian hero of old. How long did it take for that story to fully resurface after it had been forgotten? And that was when there was no league to try and suppress the news so everyone in the region learnt of it and likely knew it personally."-
And for what, maybe two or three generations later the story was almost entirely forgotten? To achieve my goal there is only one way and it requires focus and sacrifice. I have no time for family or fitting in until it is done." I said before simply walking past her. She didn't try to stop me but just stood there with a lost expression. Not that I could blame her as what I said was not even something someone like her could even comprehend.-
It was simply too vital to who she was as a person for her to make sense of it. That was fine though as I didn't need her to understand, merely to stay out of my way. Perhaps if I reached the end of my path fast enough I might consider coming back to these things but that was merely an idle thought I had as I walked away from the city into the wilds. I of course released my team once far enough from the city and as if picking up on my mood didn't quibble about being stuck in their balls for as long as they were.-
Once we got a good distance from the city where we were much more comfortable I set up camp since we needed a base camp for what came next, plate hunting. Right now I two out of seventeen plates and I frankly speaking had no leads on any more of them. That meant it was time for me to head into the underground to hunt the things down. That was where all of them could be found in the games so I figured it only stood to reason that that was likely where the majority of them were still.-
Getting to the underground was easy as I literally just had to dig down and make my own entrance to the place. Flipping up my eyepatch I opened my dragon eye and activated my x-ray vision while looking down. Immediately I saw everything that wasn't dirt or stone within nearly three miles down which included the undergrounds tunnel. I quickly calculated the angle and walked a certain distance from camp before calling over Gaia and Cratos to excavate the tunnel. Cratos for the exercise and Gaia because she could move a massive amount of material every movement she made while simultaneously solidifying the tunnel walls.-
Tyranitar were natural burrowers after all and not just for soil but stone and even metal as well. In fact this was why most Larvitar were born deep within the heart of mountains and thus difficult to obtain by poachers. Even if you were to ignore the defending parent pokemon that absolutely lived on that same mountain and took unkindly to trespassers much less poachers getting to the Larvitar was an effort in futility with how adept at burrowing they were. Most Larvitar captured were either lured into a trap or really damn unlucky as a result.-
Anyway Gaia chewed and shifted the very earth before her at the angle I specified until she busted through the wall to the underground. "By the three!" a dude who was digging nearby screamed in shock and horror as her face crashed through the wall. She rolled her eyes at the dude as she pushed the rest of her way through the wall finishing up the tunnel. The underground was not that tall so Gaia had to stay on all fours to fit but since it was underground she didn't mind all that much.-
The dude remained completely still as Gaia moved out of the way to allow the members of my team coming down here in through the tunnel as well as myself. "Thanks the gods, I thought I was unlucky enough to run into a burrowing Tyranitar!" the dude said relieved when he saw me walk through the tunnel entrance. "Nope just making my own entrance into the underground from the wilds." I said honestly. "Seems mighty risky since you couldn't know where the tunnels really were right?" he said surprised. I tapped my now back in place eyepatch "X-ray vision ability, very helpful for finding stuff underground." I said and he whistled impressed.-
"Nice! Heard of folks with that but never met one myself until now. Is it true you can see through clothes?" he asked with a lewd grin. I chuckled at that "Not really, it's too strong for that. I'd have to have several walls in order to pull off what you are thinking of and more often than not it's not even worth the effort. Once you've been with enough women the bodies stop being exciting to see as it's all the same." I said honestly.-
"You can't just dial it back to just the right amount?" the guy asked with a disappointed look. "Well you can dial it back a bit but not nearly that precisely. Best you'll get is a peak under the skin unless you are really lucky." I said with a shrug.
