Flat-Brim Samurai Chapter 88 - A Little Space Trip
,"Finally, we're on to the meat of the story," a man in a voided cloak looked at Apollo from beyond concealment ,"Now's where the fun truly begins." He faded out, teleporting to a new location.
Apollo woke up and went to the main room, he had completed a few missions by himself and learned about both mission completion and how to fly the ships. All the money he earned paved its way into buying all sorts of food. John stood in the center of the room ,"Today I think it's time for you to learn how to breathe in space, it's really not that hard." Apollo looked, believing every single word he said, after all, he didn't lie often. He followed John who said ,"Follow me."
When they reached the edge of the base he sent information via Art: Information Translation about how to transmute your ki in oxygen via Art: Transmute. John then grabbed Apollo and threw him out of the protective shielding ,"WHAT ARE YOU DO-," In that moment, he couldn't talk, he quickly layered his body in a Barrier. His throat and lungs were begging for a breath as John looked at him like a father looks at his son. This was his rendition of attempting to teach him how to "swim" for the first time. Apollo was starting to pass out, but just as he was about to lose consciousness, he released his aura and formed the energy into oxygen ,"HUUUUUUUFFFF COUGH COUGH." He was breathing, and as he got back his mind he looked around him.
The cosmic rays circled around him, the sun shone in the distance, the cold emptiness of space touched his skin like a spring morning. ,"Wow," Apollo said, The stars glimmered in the distance, unobstructed by the light pollution of Earth, it was beautiful. In that moment, he realized how small he was, which made him yearn to become stronger so he could explore this interstellar ocean of stars and planets. He activated Art: Flight and circled the globe, everything just looked so small right now. John appeared right next to him ,"Gorgeous isn't she?" ,"Yeah," John had connected the barriers of both him and Apollo, filling it with oxygen so they could talk in the vacuum of space. John materialized chairs with Art: Wood ,"Sit with me," ,"Yes sir," ,"Don't call me that," ,"What?" ,"Sir, just call me John right now, I want to talk to you like a normal person. I see a lot of potential in you, I can't wait to see what you become in the future." ,"Thank you," ,"I mean it, don't let anybody tell you anything, there's a lot of losers out there who put limits on what they do, it's all mental. Believe what you want to believe and drown out the rest of the noise."
Apollo sat there silently, they both just sat there admiring this one particular blue dot ,"We should probably get back," Apollo said ,"No, we can have a little bit of time to ourselves, you and I earned it both," ,"Cool." Then they both just sat there, nothing more, nothing less, just admiring life for what it was on the planet they were born on.
,"Why don't we take a little flight," John said, getting up off the chair ,"Sure." They both got up off of their chairs and flew, viewing the universe from their little pocket of nowhere ,"Someday you'll be able to see all of this like it was a grain of sand," ,"Really, how?" ,"I haven't a clue, those defenders guys just talk and even I have a hard time keeping up with what they say."
They arrived back at the ship, Apollo finally got back on normal ground but yearned to go out more. John said ,"There will be more missions tomorrow, just relax, you've earned it."
