Kohei PoV
The landscape around Camio and me appeared like a hellscape. The ground was scorched, fissures snaking through the outskirts. Good thing I had taken the battle further east of the hills, otherwise Saffron's hometown might've been destroyed.
"You've done well to draw me out here," Camio remarked, his voice a deep, resonant growl that seemed to vibrate through the very ground. "But your efforts are futile. Your daughter will die tonight, regardless of what you do."
I tightened my grip on my sword and rushed at him as a black aura surged around me. "None of you will be touching one hair on Rosemary's head!"
Camio's eyes gleamed with amusement as his dark flames grew in size. "Come at me, old man! I'll wipe the floor with your ash! Haha, although my flames don't even leave that behind!"
The sea of molten lava reacted to his flames, rising into the air.
I sighed. There was no running away from this. Not that I was contemplating doing so.
