Chapter 40 - The End of the Entrance

Iris stood with a calm expression on her face as she continued gazing at Luna. Everybody's heart was beating in anticipation as they waited for the final showdown.

And Iris did not make them wait too long.

Dozens of swords and spears formed of ice materialised in the cage with their tips pointing towards Luna. Not a single blank spot remained for Luna to dodge, but her face was still calm. The branches of the cage had almost left no room for Luna to manoeuvre.

Under Iris's control, all the swords and spears flashed towards Luna at a rapid pace.

Luna squinted her eyes as she raised her sword and pointed it towards the incoming weapons.

Thunder crackled at the tip of her sword as she slashed it at the incoming attack. There was a bright flash of lightening and every weapon that had been launched by Iris crumbled into powder.

But this was not end of Iris attack as the branches of the ice twisted once again and pointed spears emerged from them as they lunged towards Luna.

Luna twisted her body and made a horizontal slash of almost 360 degrees. Thunder flashed and the incoming spears were disintegrated in a moment.

This time Luna did not give any more time for Iris to make another moved. She pointed her sword to the sky and thunder started to crackled on the tip of her sword.

It took few breaths as the intensity of the lightening continued to increase and starting from her sword, then her hands and finally her entire body was covered in lightening.

The intensity of lightening was so intense that it horrified many of the spectators.

The intensity of the lightening continued to increase even further until it became difficult even for Luna to bear its burden. With a loud grunt, she slashed her sword.

A loud explosion accompanied by a loud boom occurred on the stage.

All the branches of the cage of the ice were blown to smithereens. Even the stage cracked upon the impact and was filled with debris.

Finally, after few moments when the dust settled, both of them were still facing each other. Both their faces were pale, as their strikes had used almost all of their spiritual energy reserves.

Seeing them both standing, the audience was awestruck at their powers. The explosion from the strike had shaken them to their core, even when they were seated so far away, yet these two were standing in the centre of the explosion.

While Luna was still contemplating about making her last move, Iris declared, "I give up."

Hearing this, Luna felt a slight relief.

Iris understood that even if by a small margin, Luna was stronger than her.

Although she had a few trump cards she hadn't used, she believed Luna was also holding back some of her strength. So, she chose to give up and descended from the stage.

The instructor immediately arrived on the stage and announced, "Luna wins. After one more hour, the final match between Luna and Lucas will begin."

Hearing this, the audience loudly cheered. It had been an entertaining and shocking day so far, and they couldn't wait for Lucas to go all out against Luna. The fight between the two extreme geniuses.

Before the instructor could continue, Luna intervened, "There is no need for that. I cannot win against him."

Hearing this, everyone was surprised. Had they fought before? Did they know each other?

Before anyone could question her, Luna gazed towards where Lucas was seated, "Isn't it, brother?"

Brother? Hearing this, everyone was stunned. These two monstrous geniuses are siblings? Are they really commoners?

Lucas smiled, "Yes, my little sister."

Luna wasn't lying. Although they hadn't revealed their full powers, if they both went all out, she knew she could not defeat Lucas. That brother of hers had a slight edge over her.

Hearing their admission, there was nothing the crowd could do. The most interesting duel would never happen.

The instructor reluctantly announced Lucas as the winner and informed everyone that they would be awarded their prizes when the academy started after one month.

Above the stage, Tamaya remarked, "You have gained a worthy disciple, Snowfall."

"But these two are even more monstrous. The academy is surely going to be interesting."

Snowfall chuckled but did not say anything. She only glanced in Amden's direction. She was waiting for the real monster to show up at the academy.

Slowly, everyone left the arena.

The many organizations and families who had wanted to recruit Luna and Lucas failed to find them. It was as if both of them had disappeared into thin air.

Although they had also wanted to recruit Iris, they dared not directly approach her, after she had been taken away by Miss Snowfall.
