Chapter 33 - CHAPTER 32

THE FIFTH ELEMENT 🌊🔥🌪️⛰️☯️

Chapter 32☯️☯️☯️

~☯️☯️☯️~

Cassie's POV~

I had Sage's mind exactly where I wanted, there was no way I was going to lose my grip on it again.

I saw her advancing once again with her sword, and I stood firmly, waiting for her to get close enough and when she did, with her sword dangerously close to my face, I paused her on her tracks.

She stood like a frozen figure, not moving any muscle in her body with her sword still in place. I gently ducked over and shifted from her entirely to take a proper look at what I just did.

I was still observing Sage as she stood there without any movement.

Did I really do that?

"Well done Cassie." I heard someone say behind me.

I turned to see the Elementals standing not too far from where I was.

"Um thanks." I replied to Mrs Stone.

"Since when have you known what you could do if I may ask?" The bald haired man asked me. I don't know why but his name kinda slipped my mind.

"Not too long." I said to him.

"I'm guessing Mr Ken Griffey helped alot with that. Am I right?" Madeline's Mom, Mrs Stone, asked me.

"Yeah actually he did. Although I haven't had lessons with him in a while." I say to them all.

Sage's mom was busy walking around Sage, inspecting her or something.

"Is there more?" Sage's mom asked me.

She must have noticed me eyeing her.

"More what?" I asked in confusion.

"Is there more that you can do? Or is this just it? " She asked me again.

"Um....I..." I was about to say something but decided to check out something first.

I wondered what she was thinking right now.... let me take a look.

I tried to pry into Sage's Mom's mind but it felt weird.

(There must be more she can do. There has to be. I have to know everything. I'm running out of time to make my decision.) Sage's mom inner voice.

That was the little I got from her until it went completely blank.

"Well? Is there?" Mrs Stone asked me.

I blinked a few times before saying something."No. Atleast none that I know of." I said to them.

(She's lying to us.) I heard the bald haired man's inner voice say which made me look right at him but his face was as calm and normal as it could be.

How did he know I was lying?

"Okay child. But remember that you can always come to any of us for anything or just for some advice." Mrs Stone said to me sweetly and I nodded.

"Can you also undo 'this'?" Sage's mom said and pointed to her daughter.

"Oh. Yeah Ofcourse. I think." I said awkwardly.

I really do hope I can reverse it with ease. Don't want to embarrass myself in front of these people.

I focused back on Sage, prying into her mind once more.. the next second she was unfrozen.

She looked so confused at what had just happened.

She looked around to see her Mom behind her which made her flinch back a bit in surprise.

"What the hell?" She said calmly.

"Tell me. What was it like to be in that type of trans? Did it hurt or was it just painless?" Her Mom asked her.

I raised an eyebrow at her.

Why would she ask her that?

"Huh?" Sage replied.

"You know I hate to repeat myself." Her Mom said coldly.

"I guess it was painless. Just all numbness." Sage said to her and looked down.

Sage's mom nodded and faced me.

"Cassie dear child, I am very happy about this development with your powers. Also I haven't mentioned how proud I was about how you stopped that monster that attacked the school that night." Sage's mom said to me.

"Um...I wasn't really the one that stopped the monster. I just helped a little. Jake stopped it." I said trying to evade the attention.

"He wouldn't have been able to do that if you weren't there. So it was all you. And on behalf of the whole Elementals and the school, Thank you and Good Job." Sage's mom said and smiled.

Something about her smile was unnerving.

"Thank you." I managed to say.

"We'll leave you both to continue." She said and left with the other elementals.

I looked at sage and she didn't have any expression on her face as she was watching them leave.

"That was weird." I said to her.

"Yeah. Yeah it was." She replied.

She made her sword disappear.

"But hey, you did it. You controlled your powers." She said to me and smiled slightly.

"Yeah I did. Thanks to you for pushing me to it." I said to her.

"You're welcome. We might not be friends but if you need someone to smack you in the head a few times in order to be in control then you can come to me." She said to me and I nodded.

"I'll keep that in mind." I replied.

"So you wanna go again or..." She asked me.

"Sure. Let's go at it." I said and smirked.

Sage conjured up an arrow this time around and I almost gasped in shock.

"Seriously, an arrow? How am I going to stop that?" I asked her and she shrugged.

"Do your mind thing. Let's see how it goes." She replied and smirked this time.

I nodded and took deep breaths for more concerntration.

I sneak into her mind and tried to gain control.

Sage was staring right at me, as if waiting for something to happen.

Immediately I got ahold of her mind, she released her arrow so quickly which came flying towards me with speed.

I panicked. The arrow was too fast for me to duck it.

I raised my two arms in attempt to cover my face from the incoming impact.

I waited for the pain to come But nothing happened.

I peeked from my arms and saw a very light shimmering purple ish haze that was covering me like a wall. But the haze slowly faded away like a dream before I could make out any meaning of it.

I brought down my hands completely and looked at sage blankly.

"What was that?" She asked me.

"You saw it too?.... I have no idea." I said to her.

Sage came closer to me now.

"It looked like a barrier of some sort. It completely shattered my arrow." She said while lowering her voice a bit.

"A barrier? Well why was it there?" I asked her.

"I think....It came from you. I think you made it appear." She said to me and smiled slightly.

"Me? How? I wasn't even doing anything but hiding myself from your arrow." I said to her.

"Yeah. It definitely came from you. I've never seen anything like it from any other element so it had to be you." She replied.

"Oh. Really? That's... kinda cool." I said somewhat proud of myself.

She rolled her eyes at me.

"Yeah. I can't believe I'm saying it but it actually was Cool. You're full of mysteries you know. Unpredictable. No one knows what you'll be able to do next." She said sounding also proud.

"If I'm not mistaken, was that a compliment from you?" I asked her to be sure.

"No. I still don't want to be friends." She said quickly.

I laughed a bit.

"Don't worry. We're on the same page." I said to her.

"Hey Cassie... You should be careful though. People tend to fear what they don't fully understand. Speaking out of experience." She said to me back to her serious mode.

"Right. And What kind of experience have you had with that?" I decided to ask her but she frowned a bit.

"Don't worry about that." She said.

"Okayyyy. Can I ask you something though? Just between us." I said to her.

She simply nodded.

"Is there something wrong with a water elemental having... let's say more powers like...ice.?" I asked her.

"What?" She said without any expression.

"I mean.... isn't it possible to do more spontaneous things with our powers?" I asked again.

"What are you trying to say? And What do you mean by water elementals having ice?" Sage asked me but this time around she looked very serious and was almost whispering.

"Um... nothing. I don't mean anything by it. It was just a silly theory I just thought of. No big deal. So I just wanted to ask if it was possible. That's all." I said innocently.

My big mouth! Why couldn't I just shut up!

"Cassie...i think we're done here. I've suddenly lost interest in this whole training thing today." She said to me while backing up.

"Wait, did I say something wrong?" I asked her.

"No. You didn't. And Cassie? You should keep your theories to yourself. It's dangerous to say anything that just pops into one's mind around here. And lastly be careful who you tell things to." Sage said to me and walked straight out of the training center without looking back.

Does she know her brother has ice powers?

Is that why she suddenly acted weird about my question?

I let out a heavy breath and left the center as well.

~🔥🔥🔥~

I went to the abandoned building to stay alone for a while.

I haven't been here in a while.

I went towards the balcony to take in the view and to think clearly.

I didn't understand why everyone was being so secretive about everything.

I wish I could read everybody's mind all at once but it's not that very easy.

Getting into people's mind is a bit straining for me. It wears me out.. kinda.

It's easier to control the mind than read it, for me.

I was so tired of being kept in the dark.

I was so deep in thought and didn't know when a tear rolled down my eyes.

I miss my mom.

I really miss her and wish to go back home to her.

I miss my old life. It wasn't great there but atleast it was peaceful.

I suddenly had a quick idea.

Maybe I could see her, even if it's a small glimpse.

I could do what I did with Phoebe and Damon the other day.

Madeline did call me a life GPS, so maybe I can be able to find my Mom and just see her for a few seconds even though it won't be real.

"Yeah. I can totally do it. You're a genius Cassie." I said loudly to myself.

I closed my eyes and focused on my mom's face. And then suddenly I was drawn in into space.

Searching.... searching but I just couldn't find her.

I heard so many voices and saw a fast breeze of millions of people walking past me in a blur.

They weren't important to me so I didn't bother to pay attention to any of them. I just wanted to see my mom.

The air around me slowed down a bit when I saw someone that had the exact same physique as my mom. But this lady was faced away from me, I couldn't see her face.

"°°°Mom°°°?"

I said in my mind but my voice was like a breeze. An unclear echo. Even I could barely make out what I had just said.

I tried to go closer to her and touch her shoulder but I felt myself suddenly falling.

I fell with such a speed but couldn't scream as my voice was lost.

And then my eyes flew open.

"Oh my god! Oh my god! Ahhh geez!" I scream in fear as I was dangling on air. I had fallen off the balcony.

But someone was holding me up, preventing me from falling to my death.

I looked up to see my helper and it was Jake.

"Hang on!" He said to me and dragged me up with little to no stress.

I forcefully cling to him when my feet landed on the floor of the balcony.

"It's okay, it's okay... I got you..." He said trying to console me.

For a second, I just felt like staying in his arms like this forever. Listening to his heart race a little from what had just happened.

But I knew I couldn't.
