Deep breaths.
Shaky hands.
Darting eyes.
Solomon can see the Card Magician become an absolute wreck, fearful for his life, panicking at the thought of him being spotted, hiding in the rocks and trying to ball himself up away from the populace as Osiris went off. "Hey!! Harvard! The heck are you doing here?! We still need your help out there with the Monster!" He'd shout, letting his echo go through the small pocket, his ears wide open to try and hear him.
"I don't wanna..." He'd respond, the echoes being like pitter patters of an animal's foot.
"WHAT!?"
"I SAID I DON'T WANNA!!!" Harvard's scream helped Solomon in finding him, even for such a brief moment. The Biblical Sorcerer couldn't believe what he is seeing. His own friend, a literal fiend in battle, now hiding away and cowering before sentient water.
"Are you serious right now!? All because of-"
"IT ISN'T BECAUSE OF THAT...!!" He'd scream again, his whimpers being audible. Solomon held his tongue as he'd try to hear his reasoning. "...They're watching me. I heard them when I was flying around in the mist. They were trying to find me. They know, don't they? They know that I became a monster. They must be trying to find me so they can ask questions to why. They must be scared....I'm scared, dude. I'm gonna be a freak to them, aren't I?" His fears would soften the Biblical Sorcerer, as he'd start to understand what he meant.
His parents.
"Not to mention the fact they're FIGHTING there...I don't want them to die, man! It's gonna be my fault if I do that! I don't want them to die because of me. I just want them to not be involved. I shouldn't have told them. I shouldn't, I shouldn't, I-" His panic was rising higher and higher in his voice, his body visibly trembling, his mouth practically drooling in the same manner as his tears, unable to contain his fears further. All of it was building up, just for Solomon to grip him by the shoulders and shake him out of his worries.
"PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER, HARVARD! YOU AIN'T A FREAK! NOT TO ME, NOT TO THEM, AND NOT TO ANYONE ELSE RIGHT NOW!" He'd scream, feeling the ground shake and the water leaking into the hands, seeing it try to maintain its durability. Harvard would try to calm himself as he'd hear his friends words, eye to eye at him, as Solomon continued. "Remember what you told me when we fought the snake God? That your parents raised you to be a Hero!? Tell me what you're doing right now." Harvard kept himself quiet as he heard his words. His mind was still riddled with such internal stress, yet such words would be quick to remind him what he was doing. Solomon continued further. "I get it. Trust me....I get it. I understand why you're scared. I'd be too if my family was involved. I wouldn't want them dead either, no matter how much I'd try, no matter how much I'd go. I want to make sure they're just as alive as you want them, even if they've done things that shouldn't warrant it....And all the more reason why it hurts when they're gone. It's scary, I know...but just because you're scared, that doesn't mean you have to keep yourself held down here, right? If you, no, if ANYBODY would try to hide, that would just end up causing more people to die, won't they!? That makes you a bad guy by default, leaving the problem entirely and hoping it gets resolved by itself! That's not how the world works, and you KNOW IT!"
The Card Magician merely stared towards Solomon, taking in the words to his heart. He was still in pain, yet hearing such words, he felt more hurt at himself than anything else. Solomon was right, and nothing he can say would rebuke it.
"Right now, it doesn't matter what they think. That comes later, MUCH later, and even then, I'll be there to back you up if things go south. Right now, we got people to save! Right now, we got a monster to put down before anyone else gets hurt! You want to be a hero, right? Get up and face this thing head-on! Who cares what they say!?"
"But wha-"
"I SAID WHO CARES!?!? SCREW THEM!! If they have a problem with it, They answer to ME, got that!? We can't leave our friends, nay, our FAMILY to deal with that thing, right!? If you can't do it for yourself, and if you can't do it for me or them or anyone else, do it for whatever you think matters most!" Solomon's grip on his shoulders tightened, tears coming down on his face, breaking through the boy's dead stare, seeing his eyes widen as he was hit with revelation after revelation. His breath was cooled down, his mind was starting to be at ease. Even with the chaos happening outside, he was closing his eyes and seeing himself. Seeing the figure. Seeing it offer their hand once more. As the boy tried to reach his hand out, nearly accepting Solomon's comfort and letting him be brought out, the both of them heard a noise.
"KYAA!!"
A scream. Solomon merely looked away, his attention grabbed by the sound, thinking that the mother was hurt somehow. He'd shake his head and try to look back, but as he did, he would see his friend have a new face. Pure, utter anger. His eyes staring into nothing, his pupils shortened, his puffy hair split apart, acting as waves for his head, flowing freely, alongside his energy spiking to an absurd level. Solomon simply backed away as he allowed the boy to get up and leave the cavern. He'd crack his bones as he unfurls his makeshift wings once more, getting a running start across the rubble and taking flight once he reaches the exit. "Well....that's A way to snap him out of it." The Biblical Sorcerer commented, being worried for his safety if he does anything reckless against the Sea Monk without others providing such needed assistance.
