The voice on the phone was very familiar to Luo An; it was the voice of Group Leader Owen, with whom Luo An had previously worked on the "First Lady Bombing Case" (Chapter 225).
When he first arrived in Los Angeles, Luo An had greeted Group Leader Owen and received a lot of help from him while handling the "Eight Teenagers' Corpses Case."
Having recently cooperated, Group Leader Owen was very friendly towards Luo An, extending multiple invitations to have dinner at his home.
Thus, hearing the sound of gunfire over the phone and Group Leader Owen asking for help, Luo An did not hesitate to immediately rise from the couch and quickly run out of the apartment:
"Where are you? I'll call for backup right now!"

Before Group Leader Owen could answer his question, another gunshot followed by the sound of the phone dropping to the ground, and someone collapsing, came from the other side of the call.
