Chapter 552 - *Title Hidden*

Under the surprise attack of Mega Altaria, the Ultra Beast, already gravely injured, couldn't withstand the intense sound wave carrying hypnotic waves. Its massive body plummeted toward the uninhabited island.

Boom!!

The violent shockwave kicked up all the dust in the area. As Terrance descended riding on the Mega Altaria, he could still feel the turbulent air currents surrounding him.

When Terrance and the Mega Altaria landed on the ground, the Mega Evolution was immediately and deliberately cancelled. As Terrance got a clear look at the Ultra Beast's body, a sense of awe welled up from within him.

Compared to before when its body was shrouded in light and obscured by heat waves, the Ultra Beast now fully revealed before his eyes appeared incredibly majestic. Its anthropomorphic face and white body looked similar to some "statue of gods" Terrance had seen before; every aspect of it exuded nobility.

Of course, Terrance hadn't forgotten what he needed to do.

The research had to go on no matter what. Facing the unconscious Ultra Beast, Terrance's actions of "collecting material" were quick and efficient.

During the Ultra Beast's unconscious state, every inch of its body was thoroughly photographed by the Rotom Pokédex.

"Rotom Pokédex, do you know what kind of Ultra Beast this is?" Terrance asked.

"???" responded the Rotom Pokédex. "No data found, Roto."

"I see." Terrance had hoped that perhaps the ancient history recorded in the Rotom Pokédex would include some information about similar Ultra Beasts. After all, in Alola, Ultra Wormholes had appeared many times—it was considered a high-incidence anomaly.

"The Aether Foundation people should be arriving soon." Before the Aether Foundation arrived, Terrance slowly took off his backpack and opened it.

Inside were all kinds of Poké Balls prepared in bulk—regular Poké Balls, Great Balls, Ultra Balls, Heavy Balls, Luxury Balls, and many more. Terrance had readied them over the past few days.

Looking at the white Ultra Beast with pale green markings, Terrance swallowed hard. He wanted to confirm whether an Ultra Beast could be captured using an ordinary Poké Ball.

For this line of research, Terrance had once received information from Master Victor. Master Victor believed that Ultra Beasts were a type of Pokémon, and one of the key reasons for this theory was that they could, at times, be captured using Poké Balls. Since Poké Balls are tools designed specifically to bind Pokémon, and this mechanism still functioned against Ultra Beasts, it indirectly supported the idea that Ultra Beasts and regular Pokémon had something in common.

Terrance threw the ball.

The first Poké Ball was thrown. With a flash of red light, the Ultra Beast's body was immediately enveloped by the glow, and it looked as if it would be drawn into the Poké Ball.

However…before Terrance could rejoice, the Ultra Beast broke free from the Poké Ball's binding mechanism before it even got pulled inside. Terrance's eyes widened in disbelief, unable to understand why.

"How could this happen...?"

Unwilling to give up, Terrance switched to a Heavy Ball for another attempt, but the result was still the same. He then quickly swapped to an Ultra Ball. As expected, it still failed to capture the Ultra Beast.

Just as Terrance began trying different Poké Balls one after another, one of the Poké Balls he threw was suddenly deflected by a mysterious force. Altaria stood protectively beside Terrance, glaring at the four rapidly approaching figures with a hostile expression.

Purple… red… pink… yellow—each color corresponding to one of the supreme guardian deities of the Alola region: Tapu Fini, Tapu Bulu, Tapu Lele, and Tapu Koko.

Seeing all four guardian deities appear at once, Terrance stopped his throwing motion and looked at them calmly.

Tapu Koko flew forward to face Terrance.

"Tapu Koko… what are you all planning to do?" Terrance asked slowly.

His question didn't elicit any response from Tapu Koko. Instead, it turned its gaze toward the Rotom Pokédex. Zing! A stream of electricity shot out and entered the Rotom Pokédex.

Seeing Tapu Koko suddenly act on the Pokédex without warning, Terrance's face darkened with anger. But soon after, the Rotom Pokédex spun around and spoke to him: "Found it—data on this Ultra Beast."

Terrance, who had been furious just moments ago, was taken aback by the Rotom Pokédex's change. He looked at Tapu Koko in disbelief. Just now… did it manipulate the Pokédex using electricity?

Next, the Rotom Pokédex recited a fairy tale passed down in the Alola region.

It was called… Celesteela.

A long, long time ago, a green meteor streaked across the full moon and landed in a bamboo forest on Melemele Island. Startled, an old couple living nearby hurried to the site, where they discovered a newborn bamboo shoot emitting a dazzling light. Because the shoot had a lovable face, and the couple had no children of their own, they named it "Kaguya" and decided to raise it as their own.

But as Kaguya grew, the bamboo forest around it began to wither, prompting the nearby villagers to complain to the old couple. Even so, the couple swore to protect Kaguya at all costs. Yet, at that moment, Kaguya suddenly rose into the air, her entire body glowing, and flew toward the moon. Her flight was so graceful, like a celestial ship, that the fairy tale came to be known as "Celesteela."

After hearing the story, Terrance responded quickly. He looked at Tapu Koko and asked, "It's that Kaguya from the tale?"

Tapu Koko shook its head—then nodded.

Terrance immediately realized: the Kaguya in the fairy tale was mistaken for a bamboo shoot, which should have been green. But this Ultra Beast was white.

"Same species?" Terrance asked again.

This time, Tapu Koko gave a definite nod.

"Then..." Terrance was puzzled.

Next, Tapu Koko uttered a strange syllable, and the Rotom Pokédex spoke up in surprise: "Terrance, Tapu Koko says that the Kaguya in the tale never managed to return to where it truly belonged, and ended up trapped somewhere. The Ultra Beast that appeared now was drawn to Melemele Island by the aura of that Kaguya."

"Tapu Koko also says that this Kaguya has no way of finding the original one. In order to prevent it from disturbing the Alola region, the guardian deities intend to forcibly send it back to the Ultra Wormhole. However, since they happened to find you here, they request that you be the one to return both Kaguya who accidentally entered Alola."

"This..." Terrance smiled bitterly.

He had merely followed this Ultra Beast—and now he was tangled up in such a troublesome matter?

"What should I do?" After thinking for a moment, Terrance finally asked.

The four guardian deities exchanged glances, then gathered around the unconscious white Kaguya. As a beam of light enveloped the white Kaguya, one of Terrance's Poké Balls was mysteriously drawn toward it.

This time, the Poké Ball was not repelled. The white Kaguya's power seemed to be suppressed by the guardian deities, and it was almost completely unable to resist as it was drawn into the Poké Ball.
