It was dark and cold
So cold that one would feel like they were being chilled to the bone.
There was no ground, neither was there a sky. There were no creatures to be encounter in this pitch black domain of darkness, it's only characteristics was darkness and the cold.
Reitolk opened his eyes in discomfort, only to be greeted with a scene he was not at all familiar with, well, lack there of. Examining this strange area he found himself in, an emotionless voice reached his ears.
*Player please input your character information.*
A system screenwas presented before him, asking him for his character information. This alone was enough to make him realize where he was. Although Reitolk realized where he was he struggled with believing it to actually be true.
Was he reborn or reincarnated or something, no.
He could feel it, he did not understand what he felt, but he just knew he wasn't brought here through some miraculous means. Instead it felt like...he was here the whole time.
He didn't understand what to make of this specilation, but he didn't need to understand it yet. A foreboding aura was surrounding the timer above the system screen, which he strangely doesn't remember ever being there. He had five minutes to finalize his character's information. He noticed that as time passed by he felt more and more lightheaded.
The lightheadedness gave him an intense sense of danger. Panicking slightly, Reitolk quickly analysed the system interface. There were a lot of things he had to put in, such as name, gender, and some personal information to link your character to who you are in case of emergencies.
"It really is the start of this damned game" Reitolk exclaimed in subdued disbelief.
Right before he confirmed his character's information he stopped himself, having a flash of inspiration or more like hopeful desperation. There was only a minute and a few seconds left.
"System I want to leave", he called out hopingly.
No response
"System logout" he called out once more.
No response
"Secret'break-ForceLog, NOW DAMMIT", Reitolk, now screaming in desperation with bloodshot eyes glared at the system interface.
He knew what was on the other side of this pitch black darkness and system screen, and he knew it would ultimately not be a pleasant experience.
*Players will be able to logout after character information finalization.* The system voice rang out, as if trying to console Reitolk worries.
"WHAT A BULL FACED LIAR YOU ARE!"
It felt like years had passed since he had made that choice but even then he had only experienced a single year in what could only be called a lucid nightmare
Reitolk looked down at his body and realized he had no scars on his body nor any demonic contamination occurring on his left arm.
"I'm no longer demonized", he muttered in astonishment, those words quickly proved to be a huge mistake.
*Human Reitolk Bridge has been listed as an anomaly, initializing The Fair Anomaly Neutralizing Procedure.*
*Time to complete player character registration has been reduced by 90%*
*Player information collection and integration speed reduced by half*
Suddenly the 49 seconds Reitolk had reduced to 4.9 secs and was running out quickly. Integrating player's finalized information usually took 2 seconds to complete.
Reitolk reacting quickly, pressed the finalize button so his character information could be registered and integrated into his player character user info tab before the timer ran out. He immediately started sweating bullets as the light headed feeling became 5x stronger in an instant, nearly knocking him out. He felt horrible, dealing with a mix of extremely lightheadedness, nausea, vertigo, as well as exhaustion.
With his utmost effort he directed his eyes towards the system's interface; and watched as the timer on the system ticked down, until, finally it disappeared as a new message showed itself.
*Character information has been finalized, now teleporting player to 'Survival's Rise'*
In the blink of an eye Reitolk disappeared.
