Professor Spark took a seat behind her big desk and smiled at everyone. "First things first. If you want to settle things between students here you can request a duel that will be overseen by a teacher. These can be to the death if both parties agree and we allow it but mostly until one or the other becomes unconscious. Otherwise be careful of how you use your magic and actions here… certain teachers can also deduct points. I prefer a more…. Shocking approach though." she said waving her hands in the air leaving traces of lightning crackling behind.
She paused looking over her students. "The strong, diligent, and wise shall be rewarded. As well as others I see progressing. A lot of your time will take place in home room for you first years so take a look around at everyone you'll be with and get used to them!" She said staring at me and glancing at Victoria.
"Carrying on. The point system the headmaster explained to each of you is accurate. You can also acquire a grade of S which will be points awarded for remarkable achievement the number varies on what you've contributed and how well. Spells you will learn as well as maybe be taught by me and you will realize many unique things about them as time goes on." She paused and slammed the wall behind her.
*BANG*
"POINTS will be the life or death of you here. Official matches can have points wagered to obtain your peers points. Matches amongst other things can be bet on to increase points or lose them. How well you eat, how well you live, 0 points will make your life miserable. The 1st years have their own floor as do the 2nd years so there will be no bullying or point stealing from those of seniority, you all have trials and you all will be on equal grounds. So study hard choose your paths wisely, and challenge others often. If you feel you are in the right when being punished feel free to challenge a teacher here but I wouldn't recommend it." Professor Spark said while sending so much electricity into the pencil on her desk it started to burn to ashes.
She gave us one more look around the room. "That's all for today, class dismissed. Try not to be caught out of your dorms at night. I feel I shouldn't have to explain the consequences either but boys stay in the boys dorm and girls stay in the girls dorm." Professor Spark said smiling mischievously.
The rest of the class decided to leave and on my way out the door I noticed Alex in the crowd. "HEY how you been feeling big guy" I said throwing my arm around his shoulder.
"OH, hey Jesse I was scared to come back up to you after day one it seems you and the new girl Victoria have half the class interested in you both but the other half mad for our shocking revelation earlier." Alex said laughing punching me in the arm. That nurse was beautiful she healed me right up and I feel even better than when I arrived. No cuts on me or anything it sure is a weird world but I'm happy I'm not dreaming. I'm excited to see what becomes of us here it seems the only new students in that class are me, you, Victoria, and Adam.
"Yeah it's been a wild day" I began to tell Alex so far what has happened and why me and Victoria are now fighting as we walked along to the boys dorm.
"Ahh I see. Well while all that extra nonsense between you both was going on I was getting healed in the infirmary thanks to somebody but like I said I sure don't mind and the headmaster told me to visit him later on." He said looking over at Jesse.
"Sorry about that it's been a lot for our first day huh, not to mention the fame we got for completing the bridge exam" I said speeding up to match his pace.
"ATTENTION STUDENTS. I'm head of the boys dorm you all can call me Henry. You first years will all realize the building is imbued with magic so the outside looks small but don't get lost inside there are multiple floors and rooms for everyone. First years will choose whichever room they like for the first month. After which points will decide who gets a better room or who gets a downgrade. So enjoy the size of the room now or pay the consequences later. Inside you'll find a card that will magically lock and unlock your door as long as it's on you all you have to do is grab your door handle and the room will open to you lose your card lose everything inside you have gained and start back over with your personal belongings or items you have found through other means. Others won't be able to get in without high level magic." Henry opened the doors to the dormitory motioning in the new students.
Jesse and Alex looked at the short bald man speaking wondering if he was anything special compared to their homeroom teacher they just left.
"Be careful leaving after curfew. Don't get caught if you do. The first floor and second floor separation of the school for the first and second years doesn't apply after curfew. Even the second years don't want to be caught by a teacher after curfew without good reasoning, but we do have some students who assist teachers as well with nightly duties of course these are all second years who know at least 5 different spells. Good luck." He said leaving back to his office. Before I forget though for anyone wishing to advance to second year be confident and apply with me after learning 5 spells.
"Oh dear god not again" I turned around and saw fighting as students shoved their way inside trying to get the room they wanted first. A few punches came my way. Nothing I wasn't prepared for I didn't stay long to watch. Dodging and ducking under the punches I saw Alex punch and send a student flying into others as Henry just watched from his office with his feet up. I dove inside and immediately could see how vast it was. I ran down the hall to the right until i could find an open door for me to take. I didn't see any so I ran up the stairs at the end of the hall. I only saw a few students on the second floor. Doors still closing every second. I ran into the nearest room grabbed the key card and closed the door behind me hearing it lock. Room 253 I'll have to remember that.
The room had a small bed for one person. One pillow, a thin blanket, and a bathroom with a roll of toilet paper. Not much I guess it'll do for now. What kind of prestigious school treats their students like they're homeless. I turned and looked around some more then I saw next to the bed had a weird blue screen with some digital writing on it.
