Chapter 291 - Ignoring Damage

"Where has Mr. Li Yue gone? Why hasn't he returned yet?"

Li Yue had been gone for nearly ten minutes, causing the group to grow increasingly anxious. They had no idea why he had suddenly disappeared or what he was doing.

Thump, thump, thump...

"Wait, I think I hear some strange noises!"

As they worried about Li Yue, a sound like the stampede of thousands of horses came from a distance, growing closer by the second. The group was puzzled since there were no horse herds on the island. This noise had to be related to the dinosaurs behaving abnormally.

"Could there be trouble with other dinosaurs?"

Chloe felt uneasy. Apart from the dinosaurs, there were no other animals on the island. If there was an issue, it had to involve the dinosaurs. Within seconds, the sound of the ground being trampled grew louder and more precise, as if massive beasts were pounding the earth nearby. The noise was so intense it felt like a giant heartbeat, causing unease and restlessness.

...

Meanwhile, Li Yue, who had just used his heat vision to kill the crazed John Hammond, heard the thundering sounds. With his heightened senses, Li Yue could perceive the noise even more distinctly than the others.

"Could it be that the dinosaurs on this island have gone berserk again?"

Li Yue extended his mental energy to confirm his suspicions, covering the entire island. He discovered that, as he had suspected, numerous dinosaurs of different species were charging madly in one direction. These same dinosaurs, calm during their earlier tour, were now uncontrollably violent for some unknown reason. All the dinosaurs were racing towards a single point, disregarding any obstacles in their path.

Li Yue observed that the leading dinosaurs ignored their wounds, showing no signs of feeling pain. From an aerial view, one would see streams of charging dinosaurs converging towards a specific location.

...

"What are they gathering for?"

Li Yue was puzzled by the dinosaurs' converging paths, wondering if they had a particular purpose. Despite his curiosity, his priority was protecting others, especially the little girl. Confident that Hammond was genuinely dead, Li Yue vanished instantly, reappearing at the T-Rex enclosure.

"Li Yue, you're back! These dinosaurs have suddenly gone berserk, and I can't calm them down anymore."

The girl, visibly distressed, cried out to Li Yue when she saw him.

"What's going on? Even you can't calm them?"

Li Yue was surprised. When he returned, he saw that the T-Rexes the girl had previously soothed were now violently ramming the electric fence again.

"I don't know what's happening. I can feel that my calming influence has reduced their violent tendencies, but their bodies still move uncontrollably, as if something else is controlling them."

The girl was bewildered, unable to understand why her abilities were suddenly ineffective.

"If her ability isn't working, it suggests the problem isn't with the dinosaurs' emotions but with something controlling their bodies."

Li Yue recalled the older man's final words. Hammond's mention of his "creations" seemed to refer to the dinosaurs. Initially, Li Yue thought these were just the ramblings of a dying man, but now it appeared Hammond had done something significant before his death, leading to the current situation on the island.

...

Unsure of how the older man had influenced the dinosaurs, Li Yue contemplated his options. Should he kill all the dinosaurs? Since he couldn't stop them, he decided to observe their behaviour. His immense power allowed him the luxury of patience, confident that nothing on this island could threaten him.

...

The high-voltage fence, already damaged, was further weakened by the continuous ramming of the T-Rexes. Within minutes, the gap widened, and the wall began to collapse. Armed guards, tense and ready, aimed their guns at the raging T-Rexes but hesitated to shoot, fearing job loss if they killed one.

Finally, a T-Rex managed to break through, its head emerging from the electrified gap despite the arcs of electricity scorching its skin.

"Quick, shoot it before it escapes!" Chloe shouted to the guards, who were still hesitant to fire.

"You guys step back; I'll handle this!"

A burly man with a rifle rushed over and fired at the escaping T-Rex without hesitation. The tranquiliser dart hit its mark, but the T-Rex showed no reaction, continuing its rampage as if it hadn't been hit.
