Chapter 7 - ch. 7 Gaining Respect

Awakening from four hours of sleep feeling completely rested, Krillin appreciated the morning sky shining doen on him before reaching into his storage dimension and pulling out a large chunk of cook dinosaur meat the size a dog.

It took the monk all of 3 minutes to completely devour the meat, only a single bone remained which magically vanished from his hand into his storage. Wiping the grease off on his already raggedy cloths, Krillins looked up at the immense tower and began his climb.

****

On the top of the Karin Tower, a big white cat was holding a cane and looking down with a smile.

"Another person has started to climb the tower, and his strength is not low but what is his purpose in climbing this tower of mine? According to his current strength, he is one of the strongest humans on this planet on. Is he here to fight me? Or perhaps he just wants to further his strength and craves the Divine water? Those who seek strength without purpose are those least deserving of it. Perhaps I'll have to give out some sacred water."

The sacred Water is just ordinary tap water which the Immortal Korin gives out to deceive and appease power hungry humans. The Ultra Divine water is what actually unleashes the user latent potential at the very high chance of killing you from its poison.

Hours passed as Krillin climbed, the morning sun was replaced by the moon. Despite this Krillin kept moving upwards with just the little moonlight barely illuminated the next ledge.

The ledges weren't evenly spaced and had weird hand holds, climbing it wasn't something you can mindlessly do but required constant focus. The higher he went up on the tower the smaller the handholds got and the further the distance between them grew.

This task was not only physical challenging but also mentally. If he hadn't had his small healing factor then he'd have fallen long ago just from exhaustion!

The one upside to climbing the tower was thag Krillin could feel his hand eye coordinate grow rapidly, he'd initially had problems climbing but that went away as soon as he adjusted to this tasks.

The boy kept climbing through the night, stopping to eat every few hours, it was only when the afternoon sun shined overhead that he finally reached the top of Korins tower after nearly 30 hours of straight climbing.

Jumping over the rails of the building, Krillin walked up the marble set of stairs and saw, as expected, a big white cat holding a cane.

"Congratulations on completing the tower climb. I am the Immortal Korin." The big white cat spoke.

"You are the Immortal Korin? I thought you would be an old man, but it turned out to be a cat?" Krillin said, trying to act his age.

"Everyone who first meets me say this...Ah that torn Gi of yours looks familiar. Are you perhaps a disciple of Master Roshi?" The humanoid cat said as he squinted at Krillins torn clothing.

"I am Master Roshi's disciple, how do you know that?" Krillin acted dumbly

"Ahaa, I taught that boy Roshi nearly a century ago for several years. Seeing as how your Roshi's disciple and he is mine, I guess you can consider me your Grand sensei. Since you have climbed up my Tower, I assume you want something of me?

"I know this sounds greedy, but I want all of the senzu beans that youve collected"

"Senzu beans? I haven't eaten in five years and have no use for food, when I do eat it's entire for the taste so Senzu beans are useless to me...Sure I can give you my Senzu beans...you just have to take them from me!" The cats face broke into a sly grin as he walked over to a shelf and pulled out a nearly two foot tall jar.

Popping the lid off the car revealed the jar was filled to the top with Senzu beans, there had to be over a thousand of them! Closing the jar back up Korin place the handle of the jar through his cane and turned towards Krillin.

"Then let's start now, so long as you grab my pot of beans then they're yours." The cat broke out into a mischievous grin.

"Let's get started!" Krillin bursted forward with great speed towards the Humanoid cat, who dodged the kids lunge with ease. Spring back around Krillin once again went for the jar of beans only to have his hand gently swept away.

With each attempted at getting the beans Krillin was dodged or parried away, Korin expected Krillin to get annoyed or complain but no such things came from the boys mouth.

The boy kept at for hours, occasional pulling out Dinosaur meat but even then he continued to chase after Korin. These hours turned to a day, then another day, and eventually four days pasted as Krillin continuesly chasing after the cat with zero breaks or sleep.

Krillins efforts came to a head as the panting cat tried to dodge Krillins grab only for the Monks foot to slide forward and trip the exhausted cat into a wall, dropping his cane to the floor.

"Alright.... You win...." Korin said between exhausted gasps of air, he lifted the jar for Krillin to take his prize.

The boys hand reached out for the jar of Senzu beans before stopping just an inch away from it.

"...I don't want to win this way, I want to snatch these beans away from your fully rested. It feels like cheating just making it a battle of stamina, you're old and i am young after all, its natural i should have more stamina!" Krillin said with a smile.

Turning away from the exhausted Korin, Krillin walked to the middle of the room and laid down, only to fall asleep immediately.

'Goodness me! What do they feed earthlings these day, this childs stamina is nearly infinite! Not to mention he's getting slightly faster and craftier with each attempt, before long this boy will surpass me!'

Despite being immoral Korins stamina wasn't infinite, the cat rarely if ever trained and this was the first time his stamina had ever been the issue when facing a climber of the tower.

'This boy, he craves power but he wishes to gain it the proper way. He has great ambition but equally great morals, Roshi looked like you've found a good one.'
