"I said I'd do it," Mu Xingye didn't move a muscle, his deep-set eyes staring intently at Xia Pengpeng.
"Mu Xingye, feel free to try!"
"Do you think I don't dare or that I can't bear to?" Mu Xingye asked sternly.
Neither of them would give in, locked in a standoff.
Suddenly, Mu Xingye's phone rang. It was a call from Baby Mu's kindergarten.
"Mr. Mu, Baby Mu came to school and has been in poor spirits since. The teacher just found that he has a fever and is groggy, not thinking clearly. He's now in the school clinic; please come to the school immediately."
"Alright, I'm on my way!" Mu Xingye hung up and headed out.
Xia Pengpeng immediately followed his pace, "What happened to Baby Mu?"
"I don't know the details. The school called and said he has a fever and is delirious."
Xia Pengpeng felt her heart sink abruptly, "Baby Mu!"
Mu Xingye drove, and Xia Pengpeng hesitated before opening the car door and sitting in the passenger seat.
