Gerry walked through the gym doors looking like he'd just escaped an apocalypse scenario. Hair tousled, hoodie askew, half-asleep confusion still lingering in his eyes. His shoes squeaked across the polished gym floor like tiny alarms, calling attention from the empty gym.
He glanced over at the racks and blinked twice when he spotted Allen. Not standing around waiting impatiently, not messing around on his phone, but fully into his reps. Sweat running along his jawline, breathing steady, already deep in that gym trance he usually didn't find until halfway through the session.
Gerry froze in disbelief. He checked his phone, glanced out the large floor-to-ceiling windows toward the empty parking lot, and then looked back at Allen again. "No way…" he muttered, eyes narrowing suspiciously as if Allen working out early meant the earth had tilted off-axis.
