Abaddon didn't smile, grin, chuckle, or guffaw.
If this was a joke, it was a terrible one.
Eventually, he laughed dryly out of spite. If only because he hoped that it would make Yemaja drop this act sooner.
"Ha-ha. Very funny."
Much to his chagrin, Yemaja set her lips in a straight line instead. "I'm not joking, Dad. I want him to go with you."
The temperature in the room only became that much warmer. The only one who looked comfortable in it was K'ael, who was blessed with obliviousness and heat protection.
Yemaja's gaze softened, and she stared at her father in a sentimental light.
"Dad, please. It would really mean a lot to me if you let him go."
Please, tell me that means something to you... She pleaded internally.
Abaddon's intensity had yet to waver.
"Ah, let's stop all this nonsense now." Asmodeus cut through the tension like a knife as he wrapped his arm around his granddaughter's shoulder. "No one here's got a problem with it. Right, men?"
