Most people in this world are born superhuman or they end up becoming what they eat. Others have to train their whole lives in order to reach the levels of such people.
Talent is not something that one can be trained but if someone can find some sort of loophole, Leon is not said person. He was born normal and lived normally too. Of course the great age of pirates had caused him *some* inconvenience for him but it wasn't like he had met the fate of the oppressed races.
Hardship was common among the people of the world but he would probably be considered privileged. "The world is missing something very important, a mcguffin". The one piece, the borderline mythical treasure that led to the great age of pirates. It functions as good enough motivation but it also lacks something crucial. Assurance.
The world is busy trying to find and claim something that may or may not exist. In his mind, Leon didn't understand that. He got up from his slacking position by the gigantic tree that stood tall at the center of his village. The fact that it was so eye catching made it the perfect hiding spot.
He was supposed to be tending to the fields right now but Leon decided not to for no particular reason. He would have to get the bare minimum done so the village elder wouldn't get on his ass about it. After his hands had received an adequate amount of burns he decided to put off the work for another day.
He walked back to the orphanage he lived at and took of his shoes before opening the door. No-one. There was absolutely no one to greet him when he got home. No children running around making noise or even a kind older sister figure cooking up dinner. It was just him.
Well that's to be expected, the population of this village is only 24 after all. There aren't even enough people to prevent in breeding in a few generations. 14 females and 10 males.
He walked to the kitchen, opened the refrigerator and sighed as he realised there was still nothing there. It has been 2 days without food for him. "Why did that have to happen?" he thought to himself and went outside to look for some berries or something.
