Chapter 425 - Last War on Kislev Part 8: Welcomed Fight

(General POV)

Location Warhammer Old World-Kislev, Northern Oblast: Edge of the Corrupted Tzeentchian Lands of the Dark Legion, Battlefield; Dark Legion vs. Kislev & Dwarves

Boris has fallen...

He'd sacrificed himself for his loving daughter, as the blade of the tzeentchian harbert pierced through his back, stabbing him through the heart, he used himself to shield his daughter a sacrifice he'd do again for her, as Katarina screamed for her father, Tzeentch/Ixion pulled their polearm out, letting the Red Tzar's body fall limply onto the snow.

Before Tzeentch could make Ixion attack the hysterical Tzarina, the sound of multiple explosion roared across the battlefield!!

In the air, a airship, that only Laharl saw familiar came into the area, the famous Spirit of Grungni, the mobile base of the infamous Slayer Engineer, Malakai Makaisson, and that very airship was blasting cannons and tossing bombs onto the battlefield.

Obviously aiming at their forces, Laharl, he yelled at Tzeentch to forget the Tzarina at the moment, and focus on the bigger threat the damned slayer dwarves that have come out no where!!!

And as much as the Changer wanted to kill Katarina, he knew that his brother spoke reason, these damn interlopers were more of a threat than the Kislevites, especially once they realize that their adored tzar has fallen, they'll be broken, as well as being in the mercy of the Dark Legion completely.

Tzeentch sent out a telepathic command to all Dark Legion forces, that their to switch targets and focus on the dwarves overall.

Before leaving Tzeentch turned towards Katarina again, reaching out to her, Tzeentch decided that was best not to let anything to chance, he is fate but not luck. (This is common misconception about Tzeentch, despite changing everything in his schemes, they're all calculated and michodically planed to have a grand impact and change on anything that occurs, regardless if it's good or bad for him. So Tzeentch is a predestined and changeable, but he isn't fortune, or fairness, or risk, he is both calculated and complex change. It said in some old Lore, that Tzeentch hates that cause luck while fickle it can still be predictable, and stagnant, binding a mortal into a cycle of repeation, which as you'll know Tzeentch despises.)

He decided to drain more of Katarina's soul, power, knowledge of the Lore of Ice, to basically cripple her and keep her out of his way, something that Laharl actually applaud, while his other brothers were indifferent if the Ice Queen, dies now or later.

He made Ixion smashed Katarina's head onto the snow, and held her down, as the Changer channeled his ruinous, eldritch powers through her again, her muffled screams, and futile struggle against Ixion's grasp, was slightly bothersome, but not a issue for the Sorceror God.

As he drained some of her magic and soul, Katarina kept on fighting to escape the Arcane Monarch's grasp, but every single twitch and push against Ixion, Tzeentch made the avatar to squeeze his grasp onto her head.

A frost blue magical aura, coated the form of Ixion, he and his brothers felt the power and knowledge of the Lore of Ice, still to Khorne dismay but now he gain more knowledge against ice magic.

Once the struggling wain under the grasp of Ixion, the Changer decides that he drained enough of her magic...for now.

So he instructed the avatar to release her, for there was a greater enemy to deal with at the moment, looking at the weakened still form of the infamous Ice Queen of Kislev, all the Warp Gods chuckled at the sight of the woman, the Changer then turned Ixion to head to the next battle.

While Tzeentch/Ixion made his way to face the slayer dwarves, he mentally contacted Harald Hammerstorm, Kholek Suneater, and Yuri Godslayer, to join him, as he'll directly face off against the slayers, this command pleased all three of these Dark Champions of Chaos, as they rush to join their lord, Ixion Daemonhart.

Location Kislev Battlefield: Nearby woods

Now Ixion/Tzeentch, joined by Harald, Kholek, and Yuri standing over a snow-covered hill, overlooking the battle happening in front of them.

Malakai and his crew stood there before the Architect, already causing some loses in the Dark Legion's ranks, as the slayers and doomseekers upon seeing the Chosen of the Gods, they let out a battle cry and rushed towards the strongest enemies in this entire battlefield.

Wanting to...clear the field, sorta say, so he decided to unleash another spell, but taking some further inspiration from his brother the Dark One, that was always creating something he decided to make a whole new spells for his own lore, the Lore of Stars/Astros along with the recently acquired Lore of Ice, started this bout of magical catastrophe, channeling the power of the Winds of Magic, using the force of the Lore of Stars/Astros.

Molding star magic at his will, forming a mauve, blue, and indigo purple ball of star magical energy in his the palm of Ixion's hands, all while the slayer dwarves kept charging at him and when some chained-axe swinging doomseekers leaped at him, they were meet by a giant daemonic warhammer, chaotic hammer, and plague-ridden daemonic sword, killing them in such a brutal faction, done by Kholek, Harald, and Yuri in protection of their dark Chaos Lord.

This loyalty is pleasing to the Warp Gods, as Tzeentch unleashed his new star spell, that shall be name the [Celestial Rain], as the star energy ball, soared straight up to the sky, and once it passed the clouds, a mauve, purple, and indigo colored flashed illuminated the clouds, then a shower of bright mauve, pink, and blue accented bolts of energy, like shooting stars falling down from the heavens.

As this barrage of star magic bolts, rain down onto the battlefield, these projectiles started to turn in exact angles, all aiming randomly across the battlefield.

Once these bolts hit the ground, a blast of star elemental energy, burst on every impact, equaling a micro Missile striking on a target.

As these magical explosions, happened allover taking out several dwarves, mostly some gyrocopters pilots that weren't fast or reactive enough to the random hail of magical bolts, so along with the snow covered ground, the air as well was being covered in explosions.

The Warp Gods, continue to watch the havoc wrought by the Changer's magic, and the Dark Harbinger, he mentally compared Tzeentch's new star spell, with the Disgaea Gun skill called [Shooting Stars], kinda ironic that his brother designed a spell from a magic type of another world, exactly like the weaponry skill from same said world.

Regardless, Tzeentch's [Celestial Rain] was a devastating and unpredictable spell, but just as lore states when a dwarf takes the slayer's oath, under the gaze of Grimnir, they'll never flee from battle, especially when certain death is there waiting for them.

The Warp Gods, especially Khorne were impressed with the fearless tenacity that the slayers were showing, even with several of their kin dying around them, they charge straight ahead on the fight.

Like right now, even under the now lessened bombardment of the Scheming God's spell, they were still engaging in combat, which started resulting in some friendly casualties, thus as much as it will annoy Khorne, Laharl, he told the Changer to cut off his spell early, and do something else.

They don't have as unlimited resources and troops to waste like back home...just as he predicted Khorne disliked the stopping of bloodshed, and Tzeentch also expressed some annoyance that he'd have to stop a spell...but they couldn't refute the Dark One's words.

As the strange magical hailstorm was beginning to fade, Malakai saw the opportunity to counterattack.

He yelled at his lads to charge, and all thunderers to let the bullets fly, with a command and hand pointing all the thunderers started to unleash a hail of bullets against the daemons and chaos warriors.

As many of the Chaos worshipping bastards fell to the bulletstorm from Malakai's gunners, with the field cleared, all slayers (daemon, dragon, giant, pirate slayers, and doomseekers) charge through the carnage of the fallen and standing.

Slayers drove their axes into the hell prides of Tzeentch, while the daemonslayers fought against any type of daemon in their way, as the giantslayers were engaged with Chaos-touched giants, seeing all the good fighting, Malakai decided to rush in with some Thanes following him closely.

As the Masters of Innovation, were pushing forwards into the thick of the fighting, but then more forces of the Dark Legion started to come and join in the battle.

The first to arrive were the beastmen from the Beastlord, Doombull, and Catsaber Chieftain (Tai Tai Shien), together with their herds, charging straight into the fray from three various points, the Beastlord from the west, Tai Tai stroke at the east, and the Doombull herd of khornate beastmen charge straight through the front.

When the slayers saw the new enemies approaching them, they let out a excited battle cry and counter-charged without a ounce of fear in their hearts, as the battle intensified, beastmen were either cutting down a dwarf, or a dwarf would ram through them, and chop them dead.

It was massacre, and it truly pleased both (Warp) & OW-Khorne that were watching this bloodshed, very attentively, Tzeentch/Ixion then gave the order to both Harald Hammerstorm and Yuri Godslayer to enter the battle as well, making both the immortal and daemonic champions of Chaos, very pleased, Harald rushed in and Yuri took flight, leaving the Changer with Kholek at his side.

Cause he was about to unleash his second new personally designed spell, from ice magic, he even has a name for this brand new spell already, the [Infernal Blizzards].

Once again he access the power of the Winds of Magic, as frost, crystal, and greater levels of cold winds started to pick up around the Warp Gods' avatar, various tones of frosty blues began to emenate around Ixion.

Channeling the chilling power of the Lore of Ice, already perfect crystal prisms of ice of various sizes, were forming in mid-air around the avatar, unlike his first new spell, [Celestial Rain], this spell isn't meant for damage, more...tricking the victims of said spell.

With a swipe of the Ixion's scepter, unleashing a magical, thick blizzard across the battlefield, this frost have a special magical property that made it difficult for the Kislevites and Dwarves to see, along with a intense cold surging through their bodies, but this magical blizzard doesn't affect to align to the castor, meaning...as a slayer was utterly blind, covered in a heavy blizzard, when a knightmare came through the frost and impale the unsuspecting dwarf through the stomach.

That's right this blizzard, doesn't obstruct those allied with the spell castor.

This meant the tide turned to the favor of the Dark Legion, with this advantage over a more resilient and physically stronger army, with a vast difference than any other they've faced before, Tzeentch wasn't going to risk a lost by being overconfident...as he thought this all his brothers looked and thought, "You not being overconfident, End Times indeed"...despite them not saying what they've were thinking out-loud, the Changer could feel that he was being insulted...

But he let it go, as he made Ixion charge on forward, it was time for new, exciting change in this battle, and he'll enjoy it to its fullest.

Meanwhile with Malakai, he was grumbling in frustration as this magical blizzard was just conjured and making things harder for him and his crew.

Careful and attentive for any slight movement that can emerge from the frost, he heard some growling and crunching, he immediately rised his gun, and coming from the cover of the blizzard were some knightmares and plaguebearers making their way through.

Taking quick aim, Malakai, easily took care of the daemons, blasting off gore-filled chucks of vile and nightmare from the lesser daemons, thus making Malakai smirk.

Quickly reloading he let loose more shots, taking down more lesser daemons of Carnage and Plague that have taken to target him, but him like all his slayer kin, welcome this challenge.

The ones that were the most gravely affected by the [Infernal Blizzards] spell, were more the ranged and non-slayer kin in the Masters of Innovation, hearing the death scream of some of his kin, but not be able to difference the screams from his engineering kin or his slayer kin, Malakai was forced to shot a special round into the air.

A special signal to the crew still on his Spirit of Grungni, telling them to start another bombing run basically, Tzeentch saw this and knew immediately that was a primitive signal flare, as he swung the [Hellbane] to cut down another dwarf warrior, the Architect sent out a psychic message to all current units in the area, to take evasive actions.

Just as the Changer's predicted, the dwarvish airship (Spirit of Grungni) saw the signal flare and the dwarf in charge took the wheel and started flying the airship close to the blizzard, shrouded battle to begin a new bomb/cannon run onto the enemy.

But then shrieking was heard, as swarms of bats, direbats, and chaos furies of blood, charge, and carnage were swarming onto the airship.

Seeing these creatures coming onto them, the commanding dwarf yelled out, "Lads!! Get ready, we have some unwanted company!!!" many engineers and thunderers that remain on deck of the airship, got the ship's weapons and their own ready.

As small aerial schumish began, delaying them from the main battle, those moments told Malakai that something was happening, then before he could reason any possibility, a slaughterbrute...a damned slaughterbrute, emerged appear in front of him.

Roaring in blazing fury, as it smashed his dark massive claw onto the snowy ground, Malakai barely rolled out the way of the deamon hellbeast's attack, and then fired at the slaughterbrute.

At that same moment, Tzeentch/Ixion was fighting with some doomseekers and pirate slayers that managed to find him in his still roaring [Infernal Blizzards], blocking the brutal axe-swings with his avatar's weapons.

Smashing his scepter onto a eyepatched slayer pirate's head, then slice the throat of the same dwarf with the [Hellbane], only for the Changer to suffer two heavy blows from a doomseeker's chained-axes in a wide arch, slashing across the front of both the chestplate and shoulder pauldrons.

Making the avatar step back from the blow of two runic axes, then a couple of pirate slayers, aimed their fliplock pistols at Ixion and fired, causing some damage on the leg joints of the avatar, which forced it to buckle down to it's knee, and the two types of slayers to wail on the tzeentchian Chaos Lord.

A brutal and merciless pummeling and axe-chopping was raining down onto the Warp Gods' avatar, as the Warp Gods demanded that their brother, Tzeentch, do anything.

The more damage that their avatar suffered in such a prolong fight against these lesser enemies, the greater the risk of a horrific loss was bound to happen, against a stronger and more skilled opponent.

Tzeentch mentally groaned in frustration, and his anger was flowing out of Ixion causing a burst of psychic and magical energies, blasting and burning the slayers that were beating down the avatar, with Ixion/Tzeentch unimpeded.

Standing up, Tzeentch immediately made his move, impaling a doomseeker throught the chest with his tzeentchian greatsword, then using his telekinetic powers he pulled in a slayer pirate, to also be impale on the [Hellbane] driving both dwarves further down the tzeentchian state of this daemonic blade.

Going limp and lifeless, with a strong swing both bodies flew off the [Hellbane] blade, leaving the Changer with the last remaining slayers that pushed passed the pain and stood ready to fight again against the Chosen of the Gods.

Back with the Slayer Engineer, was yelling and shooting non-stop against the Slaughterbrute that was towering over him.

Malakai spotted some scratches here and there, but proving his tenacity and abilities, he used his wits and size against the khornate hellbeast.

Taking every opportunity to shot a critical blast on the daemon, shown on the body of the colossal crimson and black multi tongue and limb monster, even one of the eyes of the daemon blown off by one of Malakai's shots.

The slaughterbrute roared at the Slayer Engineer, as it attacked again, and again, and again with blind fury to kill it prey.

But this didn't persuade Malakai, only encouraged him to keep fighting and earn that "Good Honorable Death", whether it be by a slaughterbrute or the Architect's new favorite lackey, he fought and struggles for this, thanking the Ancestors he took aim and fired again.

After so many well aimed shots, the slaughterbrute a hellbeast of unrelenting fury and rage, was starting to waine and bleed from all the blood holes and chunks blown off the daemon, but it still refuse to die.

So Malakai had a idea on how to take tthe hellbeast down, running towards it making the Slaughterbrute roar at him as it attacked with a daemonic hellfire breathe, Malakai dodged it and ran underneath the hellbeast's belly, placing his gun in point-blank range he pulled the trigger.

A powerful blast fired out the gun, making great amount of damage along with leaving a deep hole in the literal belly of the beast, which made Slaughterbrute roar out in pain, but the Slayer Engineer was far from done.

Using the hole he made, Malakai, he shoved a bomb into the hellbeast's wound and scattered away from what's about to happen, leaving to the side out from underneath the hellbeast.

A few small moments later, as the Slaughterbrute was about to attack its prey that showed itself again only for a huge explosion to occur inside the daemon, his belly was blasted open bathing everything in blood, guts, and gore falling dead onto the red tinted snow.

Malakai let out a hardy laugh, as he killed the damn thing, when he sensed someone behind him...turning his head he saw Ixion Daemonhart, covered in blood, standing there, as it seems that, that "Good Death" was close after all...
