Chapter 416 - Status of the Factions: Empire & Dwarves

(General POV)

Location the Warhammer Old World-The Territory of the Empire of Man

The lands of Ostermark, in the Great Forest the greatest forces of the Empire of Man were engaging the forces of Chaos.

As Karl Franz and his imperial forces were still under attack and fighting the forces of the Everchosen, the Emperor striking down Chaos Knights right and left with great force.

Already many of the vile followers of the Dark Gods, has fallen to the Emperor's golden warhammer, he was fighting a helmless multi-eyed and horned Chaos Lord, sword and hammer clashed over and over.

But in the end he smashed his hammer onto the chest of his enemy, forcing the dark favored warrior of Chaos, bended and spitting out blood, as Franz struck down his opponent with a powerful blow to the back with his [Ghal Maraz] crushing the Chaos Lord and some of the ground shatter, under the pressure of Franz's attack and Chaos Lord's body.

Seeing the Chaos Lord has fallen but the various Norscan warriors rush straight at the Emperor, seeking the glory to kill the leader of their enemy, but sensing its master in danger, Deathclaw soared down and landed beside Karl Franz again, to kill all that threaten his master.

At the sametime, Balthasar Gelt and the filled might of Colleges of Magic were also on the battlefield for the Empire and Sigmar.

The golden masked mage, one of the greatest magic user in the Old World was still annihilating the invading forces of Chaos, unleashing devastating spells onto their enemies.

As mages of Fire, Beast, Life, Shadow, Heavens, Light, Death, and Metal Lores of Magic standed with their Supreme Patriarch, hurling fireballs, rising wild growth, bringing down the wrath of the stars itself, and much more, all while combating the vile magics of Chaos, as the Everchosen has brought with him Sorcerers of Fire, Shadow, Metal, Death, Shadow, Slaanesh, Nurgle, Tzeentch, along with the more unique magical castors of the Ruinous Powers, and those are Gaunts, Fatemaster Sorcerers, Rotbringer Sorcerers, and Shardspeakers.

A epic clash of magic, was happening in these once peaceful lands of the Great Forest, Balthasar stood strong, proud, and silent, his gleaming metallic robes and mask acting as a paragonic beacon for all mages under his command, to fight on for the Emperor and for their great nation!!!

Volkmar the Grim and his warriors, the proud sons and zealots of Sigmar, the full might of the Sigmarite Cult was summoned not only by Lord Volkmar but also the Emperor himself to face against the most vile evils of this world, the Slaves of Darkness!!

Arch-lectors leading the hundreds of warrior priests, and thousands of flagellants, and the mighty demigryph riders apart to join the Warriors of Sigmar, as they clashed with a mighty number of khornate chaos warriors, a mighty and bloody battle, as the fearless zealots of Sigmar faced the berserking beasts that worship the Blood God.

With Volkmar at the front, right beside him was a brother in faith, and another legendary figure in the Empire, Luthor Huss was right behind him, following his Lord Volkmar into the gates of Hell itself, as they are ready to face the bloody horde of OW-Khorne, with a favored and mighty Champion leading their enemy in front of the Cult of Sigmar.

Aldebrand Ludenhof a Elector Count from Hochland, has just arrived with reinforcements from Hochland.

Aldebrand, older man in copper color armor baring the sigil and banners of Talabac Reach, mounted on a great white steed and armed with a runefang, known as [Goblin Bane] and in the air was his loyal attack hawk, awaiting his command.

He was preoccupied with purging a small nurglish warband, that once belong to his hatred enemy Festus the Leechlord, that corrupted his own son, Konrad Ludenhof, who he has also slain, sometime ago without the Dark Apothecary, the most feared plague warband in the Empire was leaderless and under disarray, allowing him to finally cleanse the literal blight from his land, now all his attention can be on the defense of the Empire as a whole, now in the battle with his troops, the tide of war was looking better for the Empire of Man.

Location the Lands of Empire: Wissenland Providence, Nuln

Meanwhile in the southern city of Nuln, also known as the "Jewel of the Empire", it assigned mistress and countless, Lady Elspeth Von Draken, who was in her tower watching over her city, Nuln.

Watching as her forces prepared for possible attack, knights of black armor, musket baring men, and others loading the guns of land-ships, her subjects and warriors are readying for a fight with the forces of Everchosen, espeliterally since there literally at the doorstep of Nuln, currently Archaon was being held down in the land Ostermark, but she was never known as being overpossitive, she was better prepare for the worse.

In her elegant violent gown, flowing in the wind coming from her small window, she basically refused the Emperor's call to arms, cause her main priorities lay in Nuln, so instead of outright ignoring the call to reinforced the defense of the Empire, she sent her trusted bodyguard and officer, Theodore Bruckner with a small contigion of soldiers from death mages to engineers, Elspeth sent hundreds to fight at the Great Forest.

While the rest remain here on Nuln, ready for any war that might bleed over to their lands.

Seeing things were progressing smoothly soon Nuln shall be impenetrable, it will not fall again like the times of her predecessors, as she started make her way down her tower, Elspeth was heading to the den of her loyal dragon, the Carmine Dragon, for Nuln is at edge of war.

She failed to kill her hated enemy, the Maggot Lord, Tamurkhan, but deep inside her soul, Elspeth feel that nurglish Chaos Lord will face again, and not only him but the rising Chaos Lord, Ixion Daemonhart the Chosen of the Gods, is also a great threat especially now, that her spies have reported that Kislev is on it last legs, trying to stop Ixion's path to the South, it was clear that he and the Dark Legion will enter the Empire, and it seems to the Graveyard Rose, that only she is preparing for what come after Archaon...

Location Deep in the Jungles of Lustria, Expedition Campsite

Markus Wulfhart the Huntsmarshal, was still in his expedition in the dangerous jungles of Lustria, hence his inability to answer the Emperor's call for aid and war, as he and his amassed troop were in this hot, and luscious jungle, searching for untold amounts of treasure.

Treasure of gold and precious stones, along with ancient cities with mounts of treasures, and even myths of a great ruined city made entirely from gold, but to Markus this provided him with a grand opportunity to hunt more monsters, this firm determination earned him his legendary bow, a gift from the Emperor, known as the [Amber Bow] which is carved from a Drakwald Oak and enchantments were placed upon it by a powerful Amber Wizard.

His furred collar and hat, and mainly blue colored gear, was immediately recognizable, as he walked around the camp, readying his men and troops to proceed on this dangerous expedition and hunt, while his men were eating, drinking, and conversing, unaware that something was watching...but to him, the Huntsmarshal, his experience taught him that he was being watched, as he ready his gear, and some blue scaled creatures rushed off deeper into the deadly jungle...

Location the Dwarven Hold of Karaz-a-Karak

High King Thorgrim Grudgebearer, the ruler of Karaz-a-Karak in the king's hall was alone, having called many, many heroes of the dawi, he prepares for the greatest campaign of vengeance, retribution, and conquest ever made by any dwarf king before.

With the rise of a new Chaos God, their enemies will be on the move, especially their accursed cousins from the Badlands of the Northeast...the Dawi-Zharr...just thinking of those literal damned traitors to their kin, sparked rage within Thorgrim's soul.

He scoffed at the through and heads to the altar were the Great Book of Grudges rests, he started to read the thousands blood written records of grudges, something he his known to do several times.

It's been more than a month, since the fifth Chaos God has been born to their world, and all the Dark Gods followers have been steered to move...and so will the dwarves, he already spoken to the legendary hero, the White Dwarf, Grombrindal, to take a large forces along with others that he has summoned before to start, a campaign like no other to the south, while he lead another army personally to the North...the time has come, to purge a large amount of names...of grudges...from the Great Book, after doing some final signing and a another grudge has been purged...placing the quill back into it's blood bottle, Thorgrim, he turns around and heads to the grand set of doors in his royal chamber...it was time to mobilize...

Meanwhile outside the King's Hall, several other dwarven kings, lords, heroes are waiting for the High-King to come and adress them once again, among them was the legendary Ungrim Ironfist the Slayer King of Karak Kadrin and standing next to him is his son Garagrim, not only for duty and honor, but the promise of a "Good Honorable Death", called for Ungrim, hoping that in these upcoming battles that High-King Thorgrim has plans in the north, would finally erase all the disgrace in his bloodline, and Garagrim wouldn't have to keep the "Slayer Oath" anymore, as he saw Thorgrim coming out the King's Hall to speak to him, and Thorek standing close to him.

The other lord there was Thorek Ironbrow, a mighty runelord of old, and a dwarf from Karak Azul, a traditionalist and loyal to the High-King, like him he seeks to remake the old dwarven empire, and restore the legacy of the dawi, amongst the greatest races of the Old World.

When Thorgrim called some time ago, he was amongst the first to come and answer his summons, and as Thorgrim Grudgebearer left his inner sanctum that holds the Great Book, he requested his and Ungrim's presence.

The two dwarven lords, approached the High-King as he told to walk and talk with him, he began to tell them his plan to respond to not just the rise of the Chaos God of Carnage, Laharl Valboga, but for the betterment of the dawi.

The three dwarves, were at the edge of the dwarven hold, overlooking a giant army of their kin, from various Dwarf Lords and Thanes, to Runelord and Runesmiths inspecting and readying the troops of Miners, Warriors, Rangers, Quarrellers, Thunderers, Longbeards, and more.

From their most battle hardened, Hammerers, Ironbreakers, Irondrakes, red-haired slayers Giant-Slayers, Daemon-Slayers, Dragon-Slayers, and Doomseekers they came for the promise of a "Good Honorable Death", even the Master Engineers checking their warmachines from the Gyrocopters and Gyrobombers being cranked to full-powered, to Thunderbarges being prepared to be deployed.

Great Cannon being primed and loaded, runed catapults called Grudge-Throwers, Organ Guns, Bolt Throwers, Goblin Hewers and Fire Cannons going through final checkings...it was the grandest army of dawi, since ancient times, ever seen impressing both the Master Runelord and the Slayer King.

They've even seen some dwarves working on some anvils of doom, cart carriages, and other weapons being enscribed with runes by the runelords and smiths, it was clear this was more than just a precaution force, as both dwarven lords turned to their High-King.

Thorgrim promised a reckoning, and that their kind would once again flourish in a grand empire, and this was that answer, he told Ungrim and Thorek that they will lead this army into the gates of Hell itself, at the thrall of Zharr-Naggrund of the Dawi-Zharr, and finally purge them from their "shared" lineage.

Both Thorek and Ungrim, agreed as they followed their High-King to meet with their troops, and finally march out the undercity of Karaz-a-Karak.

A great campaign was about to begin...or better said is in process of continuing...

As the other called dwarves were already on the move, as Helgar Thrundsdottir the Dwarf Queen of Krag Bryn, famed dwarf woman and warrior that defeated her many enemies, and became undisputed queen, her forces are mainly female dwarves, as they marched behind her and her fellow dwarven lords.

Beside Helgar is Alrik Ranulfsson the Dwarf King of Karak Hirn, also known as the Hornhold, a heavy armored, wielding a runic battleaxe known as the [Axe of Retribution], and a runic battle-helm with great eagle wing called the [Helm of Eagles], while red-haired dwarf king is famous for having his own lesser Book of Grudges, this opportunity for the dawi to unite would provide him and his warriors to strike names from both books, in the name of Ancestor Gods.

Next is the third dwarven lord, in command of this united dwarf army, Josef Bugman the Master Brewer, and maker of many famous and adored ales, a fine and mighty beard dwarf, always with a jug of beer and axe, a hater and butchers against goblins, he and his followers/fans, are gathered in the opposite side of the hold, Karaz-a-Karak, together with Helgar, Alrik and Grombrindal forces, speaking of the final dwarf lord, it is Grombrindal the White Dwarf the great legend and myth of the Dawi, a hero with few equals in their kind, the White Dwarf stood among the dwarven forces, preparing to march out alongside Bugman, Helgar, and Alrik under the command of the High-King, the dwarves were splitting their forces in two massive armies attacking their enemies, and purging many grudges off the Great Book, it was time for the dwarves to rise and regain everything that was taken and slitted by others, it was time for the dawi to reign the Old World!!!

They're forces is heading south to claim several lost holds, and engage the amassing Waaghz from many of their hated greenskin enemies, Grom, Grimgor, and Gorbad, it was clear that their enemies are on the move, and Thorgrim started to make his own, with these two massive armies, Helgar, Alrik, Bugman, and Grombrindal aim is the south.

Location Dwarven Hold of Karak Eight Peaks

Belagar Ironhammer was still engaged in fierce battle against both the Crooked Moon Goblins of Skarsnik and the Skaven of Clan Mors, Queek Headtaker.

A three war that has gone on for many, many years, as the young Lord of the Angrund Clan, having come back to his family and clan's dwarven hold, to reclaim it from their mortal enemies of the greenskins and ratmen, as he and his forces have been fighting the vile night goblins and orkz of the Warlord Skarsnik, as well as the more aggressive and warmongering clan of the skaven, the red armored rats of clan Mors, and their bloodthirsty lord Queek.

Having a responsibility to reclaim his people's honor and home, Belagar has refused the summons from the High King, to fight this huge war.

Leading his fellow dwarves into the multiple tunnels of Karak Eight Peaks, charging at the front of his men, with hammer and shield ready, wielding a mighty and heirloom, the [Hammer of Angrund] filled with golden runes, and his strength of soul and spirit was calling for his ancestors and previous kings, to manifest in spirit and fight beside him from King Lunn Ironhammer, Halkenhaf Stonebeard, Dramar Hammerfist, Throni Ironbrow, and Hans Valhirsson.

Their presence among the Angrund Clan, boost their morale and strength as they clash with two great armies, lead by vicious warlords, for the Ancestor Gods, Karak Eight Peaks shall once again belong to the Dawi!!!

Location Deep in the South of the Old World: On the Deck of Spirit of Grungni

Meanwhile in the skies, soaring across the air of the Old World, was the greatest and most grandiose dwarven airship, called the Spirit of Grungni, piloted and built by the legendary dwarf, Malakai Makaisson the Slayer Engineer.

A very famous dwarf, almost matching the history of the Slayer King, Ungrim Ironfist, he was a member or still is depending the situation, of the engineering guilds of his hold, until some of his inventions went terribly wrong, resulting in the deaths of many dwarves.

Strikes with guilt and shame, he took the Slayer's Oath, and is now in search of good death, but engineering side of him, sometimes struggles with the slayer, for he wants to live and create greater mechanical marbles that will better dwarven kind...

He is paradox, and a great hero among his people as he and his crew/force of Slayer Pirates and other dwarven warriors were soaring the skies on his airship, searching for greater battles and opportunities to use various weapons and inventions in action.

Malakai was steering his ship, while his crew did various things around the Spirit of Grungni, which mainly involved drinking dwarven ale, especially Bugman's XXXXXX and Troll Brew, making him laugh, as he to reached for a mug laying beside the steering wheel, and chugged it.

While he did refused the summons from the High-King, sometime ago he'd refused the call...feeling unworthy of the honor, so he kept on soaring across the Old World, facing against unimaginable horrors in search for honor...and a "Good Honorable Death".

But regardless he kept on this journey, he even wondered about his fellow Slayer, Gotrek and his human companion Felix.

Malakai hasn't seen either of those two, since the rise of a new evil, this made Malakai think, "Should I travel north to Kislev, and join on the fun?" taking another chug from his beer, he made his decision...turning to his crew, he yelled, "Ayyy. Lads, a big battle is happening in the cold north. Want to go there and scrap!? To die in glory!!?" all the dwarves around the deck, rised their cup and cheered in agreement, making Malakai laugh, as he turn to the steering wheel, and started turning the Spirit of Grungni, towards the north...
