Chapter 67 - A hell of a journey

(Pardon me, my liege, but did you just say birthplace? As in the origins of my counterpart? The Infernal Drake?!?)

Draco, who led the infernal homunculi, was intrigued by the sudden reveal. That Hell, one of the dimensions that tried to devour Earth, was the origin of a Catastrophe. This led to the rise of their upbeat cheers which died down the moment they felt their lord's annoyance

'Anywho, the dimension you know as 'Hell' belongs to the demons, an invasive and prideful bunch who desire to rule. This is the reason why they're categorized as monsters instead of 'Different races' having no reservation for peace talks made them infamous. To this day these vile fiends have yet to go extinct but when my former self rose in power these Devils turned tail and ran,'

(Who wouldn't? You're already a menace just using a fragment of the Catasteophe's powers. The most notable fact is that my liege, despite being human, was the cause of the downfall of many catastrophes. Not the strongest Dragonian, the wise Arcana, or even the benevolent Elf, but a Human with their endless ingenuity)

'Thanks for that, Vestal, but I believe we should go straight at the matter at hand and eliminate what lies beyond the gate. It won't be long till that wall made of my bones could act as a border to separate the world and the devils. I can easily bombard them with an artificial Nuke but there's a lot that needs to be brought to light. I've been warding off these Demons since my hay day, they aren't that easy, they're crafty, and much more elusive than anything I come across,'

(Ugh and here I was storing all this gas for nothing)

(Goad now's not the time to butt in. My liege is right. If this was a quest for elimination we would've been done)

(Seconded! When I was ordering the Devourers, they noticed their lack of self-preservation. Even we have that nature)

"Glutton, Vestal, the two of you make a sound argument. I, too, was suspicious of their act. This dilemma we have is bizarre," As Neon finally accepts the reality of his situation he calls upon one of his generals who appears and kneels at his presence

[Lesser homunculus: You have summoned a single General rank lesser homunculus to your side!

'This is my first time seeing one of my homunculus's stats, but I didn't expect to see this; they're just like summoned creatures. Their stats aren't shown as accurate as us Guardians with our capabilities measured in digits but summons are measured in ranks. Now I have a better insight into how Tyrranical Will functions, it basically takes away a key stat from my homunculus,'

"My lord, why have you call upon thee? You normally refuse to summon me because I serve no offense capabilities. I assume you have sieged a city and taken it as a stronghold for me to guard?"

"If you say it like that, I sound like I neglected you and nurtured those mooks over there. In any case, I need you to properly guard this wall and make sure no one gets past it. Oh and just to make it easy for you, why don't I assign your elder brother to eliminate any would-be threats," Neon casually summons Death Stroke and upon his arrival, silence captured this very moment as they glare at one another

"Edelgard, I didn't expect to see you here out in the open,"

"Acting all superior, aren't we, Death Stroke? Who do you think is assisting who? It's clear that im the one in charge of this mission,"

The generals of the two sides of the Thornerus hound hiss at one another in pure disgust due to their opposing nature. Death Stroke leaned in to be more rowdy and chaotic whereas Edelgard was calm and collected as well as calculating. Although the two share the same genes it is obvious their personalities wouldn't mix resulting in their present situation

"Knock it off you two. I didn't call you here for a family reunion. I need Edelgard to guard this wall while you kill those who try to escape,"

"Milord if I may-" Death Stroke felt silence the moment he met Neon's stare as if his body was telling him its sole purpose was its master's orders

"Let me remind you, Death Stroke. The only reason why I gave you all free will is so I can use you as I please. Don't make a mistake thinking I desire some company," The other generals, Edelgard included remained silent, this wasn't a threat, but a reality they knew and so Death Stroke nodded

"I'll take your silence as a yes. I'll be on my way then. This will be my first step to eradicate these pest,"

[System: The host utilized one of the catastrophic skills of the [Manipulative hivemind] on himself?

(Manipulation) Passive: Anything within reach will have their mind manipulated by the desire of the caster

Outcome: You now temporarily think of yourself as a demon! The sub-ability of the Homunculus shift has been triggered!

Status: You're now Shapeshifting!]

His human like appearance faded as the Nightmarish scales of the behemoth envelopes his body. It formed an armor with a hue that matched his golden gaze and a fiery emission paired with a horn and a devilish tail. He shapeshifted to a devil so bold and daring, and to this day hailed as the strongest in history, the Irconclad fiend.
