Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 : What do we have here ?

" Thank you for the meal," said Zyle with his palms together giving praise. The Rabbitus was already prepared and roasting over the fire. He then grabbed hold of the freshly cooked meat and began to eat. However, on his third bite, something strange happened.

"That is so freaking dope! I'm sure it's something useful pertaining to food, and I wonder what's in those tabs, but... I'll check that out later, " said Zyle as he continued to eat. Moments later, when Zyle was halfway through his meal, he suddenly chumped down onto something hard.

"Ouch! What was that? " Zyle vociferated as he used two fingers to fish out the object within the meat.

"A marble ? " said Zyle, puzzled, looking at the red ball half the size of an actual marble - even the texture was similar.

"No, Master, that is a Magical Beast Core," said Obby.

"For some particular reason, when a normal beast transforms into a magical beast, a core is usually created within them. By infusing the blood throughout their bodies, the core gives the beast the potential to grow stronger at a faster rate and evolve quickly as well. What you have there is a low-grade Magical Beast Core. Also, keep in mind that by killing a normal beast you only get half the exp you would from a magical beast," Obby explained, but as soon as he finished...

"Pfft! All late," Zyle said, disregarding the message.

"Obby Exit," he then said.

"Okay, master," said Obby instantly materializing once again.

Hey Obby, I've been meaning to ask you a question about something I couldn't quite wrap my mind around. How is it that the last system message, including the one after the kill of the Rabbitus, sounded like a woman's voice?" said Zyle, waiting intently for an explanation

Zyle had taken notice that the last few times the system message showed up and spoke, Obby remained quiet. It was an entirely different voice relaying those messages, and furthermore, although it was slightly robotic, it sounded like a lady speaking.

"Certainly, allow me to explain," Said Obby as he continued.

As I said when we first met, I am merely a small part of the Omni-Being System with the sole purpose of providing you with guidance while performing specific tasks and not its entirety. Please keep in mind that there will be other voices coming from the system itself.

"Oh great, now I'm hearing voices, let's just hope the first town I come across won't have an insane asylum," said Zyle chuckling as his own joke.

"Obby! I've clearly been shooting shots in the dark, do you have any more relevant information about this world or even this system of mine?" asked Zyle while he resumed eating and waiting intently.

" Of course, master! Earlier, when you sent me to scan the area toward where we are now. I can tell you that this world, if not this universe, is full of magic. Magic is imbued in everything - People, Animals, all living and even non-living things. Every molecule here contains magic; the proper word for it is Magicules. To be more precise, every atom in this universe contains magic, known around this universe as Matoms. The word MP in the system, when you check your stats, does not only mean magic points, it also means Matom points. Every 1 point of Matom in your system registry is actually billions of actual Matoms concentrated in one. In other words, you have an affinity for storing ridiculously large amounts of magic. I had also taken the liberty to learn the geography of this entire area. The Great Forest of Gaia is surrounded by mountains on 3 sides -the east, the north, and the south, but not on the west. The west leads to a vast ocean. From what it looks like, your shelter and this river are located more towards the east of the Great Forest. Eastern parts of the forest are likely to be the only place you will encounter the weakest magical beast. Go any other direction you will encounter intermediate and above. The further in you go, the more likely you will encounter stronger beasts. The only other thing I can tell you about your system currently is that it grows as you grow; anything else will be revealed in time," explained Obby.

"Good on you Obby, you are one heck of a guide," said Zyle with a smile after he finished eating.

"Thank you, Master! " said Obby, sounding pleased with what he had just heard.

"Okay, Obby, let me run something else by you," said Zyle, and continued.

"Let's recap, I woke up, then I traveled over 10 miles to get to the river. I fished for a while, I even killed a beast, and let's not forget it got eaten which took a while. How come the sun looks like it barely moved a few inches "said Zyle pointing toward the sky.

"If this were on Earth, I think it would have been evening or night by now."

" Earth?..." said Obby with a long pause, sounding as if it was thinking.

"Oh, right, that's because this world is slightly bigger than twice the size of the Earth. This Planet not only has a slower rotation speed than the Earth, but it also consists of two moons. While the Earth has a 24-hour daily cycle, this planet has a 50-hour daily cycle with a 25-hour day and 25 25-hour night. Currently, it is still early in the morning and about 15 hours before it starts getting dark," said Obby.

"Fascinating ... Well, since we got some time, I think I'll go look around where that beast came from before I head to camp, " said Zyle as he stood up and picked up the stone knife, and began to walk.

Zyle was curious to find out where the One-Horn Goth Rabbitus came from so he searched behind the bush it emerged from. After walking about 50 feet or so, he could see an opening at the base of a large tree in the distance and what caught his eyes was something shiny being hit by the small amount of sunlight that got through the thick trees of the forest.

" What is that ?" said Zyle as he quickly approached it

When he reached and looked through the opening, he could see several items

"That must be it, that must be its hideout," he exclaimed excitedly.

"So what do we have here? " said Zyle

Looking at what was in front of him, he couldn't help but smile. There was a large backpack with gold buckles, a silver cup, a silver hammer, a large metal mixing bowl, a hatchet, a silver metal box full of construction nails, and lastly an old sword.

"A sword !! Sweet," said Zyle, bursting with joy.

Without hesitation, Zyle grabbed the backpack and all the other items inside the base of the large tree, he even included his trusty stone blade and Magical Beast Core. The one thing that wouldn't fit in the bag was of course, the sword. Lifting the sword off the ground with both hands, it felt slightly heavy. He then placed the backpack on his back and was ready to head back to camp to sort things out.

"Okay, Obby Return," said Zyle.

Before Zyle could leave he spotted a group of flowers that was purple in color with an umbrella shape a few feet away from the One-horn Goth Rabbitus hideout.

"Analyze," Zyle said as the transparent veil screen popped, displaying information next to the flower.

{Gumula Flower}

"This can be useful," said Zyle as he plucked a few out of the ground and placed them in the side pockets of the backpack.

"We are done here, Obby, let's go back home," said Zyle once more

On his way back to the shelter, he encountered a couple of normal beasts. It took little to no time to dispatch each one. Using his new weapon, all it took was a single blow both times.

After a long walk back, Zyle finally arrived at the open fields where the shelter is located. He walked sluggishly towards the shelter. He then drops the heavy backpack at the entrance of the shelter and crashes onto the bed. It had been a very eventful day for Zyle; his childlike body had not yet gotten accustomed to the 50-hour daily cycle. It had been 20 hours since he had been up, and he was exhausted.

"I think I'll just take a little nap now," said Zyle as his eyelids became heavier and heavier. Then finally, he dozed off.

Less than 2 hours later...the shelter shook vigorously and came crashing down on Zyle, startling him awake.

"GIVE ME A DAMN BREAK !!!" frustrated Zyle screamed at the top of his lungs...
