"It is our choices… that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."

"Only the beginning? Are you sure I'm still not in a coma and I'm slowly moving toward the beyond? If so, will the other people look at me crazy for talking to a ghost living inside me that counts as two dead people right."
"Silly human what a bother this is going to be for me. Here I am doing you the favor of taking responsibility for almost killing you, and I'm starting to think I should have left you on the side of the road to die. We both are still alive, and I am not a ghost!".
Hmmm can't she just take over my body or leave if she chose to? Axel thought.
"Hey, you know I can hear you. I'm a part of you right now." Said Lumina. "No, I can't take over your body it's easier if you retain your personality so others don't seem suspicious. Also didn't I just tell you I can't leave until I've regained the power I once had. Hardheaded child. I might die first before that happens at this rate. As you can see with how your neck is healed, I am regaining my strength at a fast pace. The longer I stay with you the more of my energy and powers become a part of you. I guess you could say I'm corrupting your humanity. In your terms a mutation."
"I'm not exactly able to walk around with how advanced my people are it would look alarming. Also getting attacked and dissected is not on my list of "things to do." Lumina emphasized. "Things will be easier if you just shut up and do as I say. Don't men learn that early in life for your species. Women are queens and you are nothing without us. Living 101. I'll give you back your mind and stop invading your filthy thoughts for now."
"I'm not the happiest lady being stuck to a man like you, but I don't need your death on my conscious. Now this puts you in a particular situation. You can be accepting of me in your body and get stronger since currently at your level if you die so do I and vice versa. Over the course of time if your body is exceptional, you'll be able to call on if not learn to use the same abilities I can without me having to pick up your slack."
I have my thoughts back now, right? Axel thought. Can this crazy witch lady ghost thing hear me? If you can please don't kill me for the insults.
No, she's still just talking away. It's hard having an inner voice to speak to myself while front and center she's going on and on about everything. Which I do find all important and she did save my life but at what cost and what am I getting into. I certainly won't be able to explain to anyone why my body is recovering. You think the hospital believes in acts of God and miracles?
"Let this all sink in on what you want to do and don't for a second think I accept you because I don't. Fighting with your body rejecting me is a pain but kicking me out will cause your death so your choice boy, you don't have much time I say about sunrise until you get questioned by the doctors in this building." Lumina said.
Axel sat and thought to himself so many different things. To think all of this could potentially happen due to a meteorite and a detour from Katie's house. Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Is a normal life out of the question now. People already have written me off as dead I can't just pop back up walking and waving my good mornings to others. Not like I cared to do so in the first place.
Lumina from what I understand I must accept you and I have no choice right? Thought Axel while focusing on her so she could hear.
…..
…..
…..
"Hello?" Axel spoke into the empty room but all he could see was the sudden turning of the lock to his room. The door being overcome with a mystical aura he could not fathom.
Out of instinct Axel got up and walked over to the door to examine just what happened. Pulling along his heart monitor and support equipment as far as it could reach without shutting off.
"Wow broken legs for about a month and now walking huh. What crazy sorcery is this? Not like it's any easier to move when I haven't in so long." Axel whispered reaching for the lock to his hospital room.
Huh? I can't unlock the door or get out. Axel thought to himself.
"Obviously not." Spoke Lumina.
"Oh, you're back now? Did you not hear me call for you earlier?"
"I'm in your mind and attached to your body of course I can hear you. I said you would have to accept me. By no means does that mean I accept you nor do I answer to anyone." Lumina screamed in Axel's mind.
"I just decided to turn your annoying voice off and observe the surroundings for a bit without you bothering me, but I've put everything back to normal again."
"I got it I got it. So, seeing as I don't have many options here. I'll try to understand my body better so it's easier for you to be there. I guess that's acceptable since you are pretty much my portable life support system right now." Axel said staring down at his legs and feeling them up and down. I feel like this is very dreamlike and I'm going to wake up soon. Maybe it won't be in a hospital on the verge of death either.
"I see you're finally listening as; you should be. Good. I healed your legs with some of my energy. So, stop messing with them you look like you're on drugs which you slightly are from those injections earlier." Lumina expressed.
"We got a long way to go I see before this gets any better huh. Can you at least see what's up with the lock?" Axel thought.
"Like I said human I don't answer to you. I'll inform you though that I used some of my power mixed with the energy in your body to lock the door. It won't be opening for the next five or so hours. There's a lot to learn about your body maybe one day I'll share some of my powers with you willingly." Lumina said proudly.
Great I have a super alien who is bossy in my head. What else do I have to go through tonight. Shouldn't the night be about over anyway. Thought Axel.
"Well, you now have choices that you must make. Escape this room run and keep running and don't stop running. Away from your family, away from your friends, away from the life you used to have and grow strong enough that nobody will tell you how to live your life if you decide to come back." Lumina spoke. You also don't want to get caught and cut into pieces to be analyzed just so your scientists can find nothing and pretend they did.
You could feel the chill in the air as a breeze came in blowing all the get well soon cards around the room. Landing at his feet his parents card as well as Katie's.
Leave all my friends and family behind after they just came running to make sure I was alive I don't think I could do that.
Axel looked around the room and began to clean the mess picking up knocked over vases and the cards he received from his friends and family. "What's the other choice" he spoke softly pausing cleaning as he looked out up at the moonlit sky.
"This one has a higher chance of survival, so I recommend it. Only the progress is going to be at least ten times slower but maybe that'll give you a better understanding of yourself and the world around you. There're many secrets and many other magnificent as well as terrifying things beyond just what you think exists. No matter what decision you make the first option might be the outcome if you aren't careful, you'll end up running for your life until you die at your current strength. Be mindful of your actions moving forward. Otherwise, you will regret it. I live inside you now as well, so I won't let you die easily but I'm still weak compared to what I once was after the impact from the meteor." Lumina explained.
"So, the other option?" Axel repeated. Hoping that this choice would be better than the previous one
"Impatient child. Obviously, it would be to pretend you idiot. Pretend you make a slow recovery and that you have received a miracle. A divine blessing if you will. This will let you live your life normally until you mess it up." Lumina said harshly.
Axels body suddenly lit up and as if his spirit left his body, he could see something bright start to come out without a shape. He tried to touch it, but his hand passed right through.
"I can do this much at my current state. I am still connected to you so only you can see me, but I can somewhat leave your body if I don't go too far. While I do you might be in danger though, so I'll only do it if you're sleeping until you're stronger. I'll also be harnessing the world's natural energy to heal myself." Lumina then went back inside Axels body.
"Pretend huh". Axel spoke out to the window he sat back down in his bed re-covered his legs and began looking around until he picked up the tube that was helping him breathe earlier. His hands shaking and the cold sweat ran down his face felt even colder from the night air.
"Deep breath, Deep breathes." Axel spoke to himself tightly gripping the oxygen tube in his right hand and raising it inch by inch closer to his neck he earlier removed it from.
"Hey…... what do you think you're doing?" Lumina questioned unsure if she should try to stop his scheming unaware of what was to come.
"AHHHHHG" Axel stabbed the tube back as hard as he could in his neck. As blood started to squirt everywhere and leak down his neck his vision began to blur. The pain was so great he couldn't bear to stand it anymore as the blood continued to seep down onto his bedsheets staining them a dark crimson.
"Did you hear that scream? It came from Mr. Lunes room! Hey what's going on in there?!" Doctor miles came running down the hall pushing past the other doctors and nurses and slamming into the hospital door hoping to smash it open but only injured his shoulder in the process.
"Call the technicians, maintenance, ANYONE. I want this door open now. The boy could be in danger". Dr. Miles frantically spoke. Knowing there was something intriguing about the boy he couldn't quite put his finger on.
Voices? Well, she did say they would be locked out for a while. I can't make out what they're saying either. The rooms only getting darker. I wonder if this is what bleeding out feels like. Axel calmly closed his eyes.
"This boy will be the death of me to think a proud woman such as myself in a position such as this. Fluttering in and out of consciousness because of you." Lumina's voice faded out only slightly whispering her last few words.
The next thing Axel could see when he opened his eyes was a huge grassy plain that stretched for miles. At the end was a grand castle and what looked like a futuristic city, humans flying, some on objects some without any help at all.
He turned to stand up and could see the most beautiful woman he's ever laid eyes on just staring off at the city. Long hair with streaks of purple running along the million strands of jet-black silk that reached halfway down her back, fair skin flawless with no imperfections. Curves that could make any man swerve off course to their death just trying to make it to the end. She looked more mature and stood confidently and proudly. She was wearing a purple dress that seemed to have tares in it. The strangest thing was. She was crying as u could see teardrops falling on the fresh blades of grass. She turned her face to look at me full of sadness and rage in her eyes.
"Seeing as we both share the same body but have our own souls. Looks like you ended up in my consciousness this time boy. I'll let you in on a secret though. You certainly don't belong here".
