"RUMBLE!!!"
The landmass convulsed beneath a divine pressure, shaking with such ferocity that it seemed the entire realm might be torn in half. Cracks spiderwebbed across the colossal canyon forged by Tiamat's devastating strike, and then—just moments later—two figures shot skyward, rising like divine comets into the highest reaches of the sky.
Tiamat and the Lord of Ages—both ArchDeities of staggering might—had begun their battle.
The sheer scale of their confrontation was enough to threaten the Matrix of the Second Layer. If any of them insisted on continuing the fight within the mainland of the Second Realm, the World Will itself would intervene, empowering their opponent in a desperate bid to preserve the structure of reality. This universal failsafe forced them upward, into the upper skies, where the damage of their conflict could at least be partially contained.
