When I see the almost evil smile on Ivan's lips, I realize this might've been a mistake.
After all, he had the title Ivan the Contemptible among most of the packs on the West Coast. A ruthless, merciless Alpha who didn't yield until he won. He was sought after by the most prominent packs to share his abilities. Many people feared Ivan, but they didn't know him. Everyone thought they did, even inside the pack, but they only saw what they wanted to see. No one understood that his ruthlessness wasn't out of cruelty. It was the drive of a predator, a focused hunter.
He showed no mercy because he couldn't afford to show any.
So many saw him as a monster they could control. Was it any wonder they labeled me the Tamer of the Beast when I entered his life? No one could wrap their heads around the idea that I'd done nothing to subdue Ivan.
