Putmi was alarmed and quickly started to explain.
"Lord Spade, I didn't mean it that way, just that we should prepare for the worst."
"If you were saying our Black Brilliance was about to sink, your statement would make sense, and abandoning the ship to save the king would be a wise choice. But we haven't reached that stage yet; since when do we not dare to take even this small risk for our comrades?"
Spade rebuked with a hint of displeasure in his tone.
To put it bluntly, the troops that got swallowed up were basically the most valiant in combat. Of course, it doesn't exclude some who want to kick someone when they're down to make a profit.
But they were absolutely the core combatants, mostly from the GT department.
Augustus then spoke up to persuade, "Spade, Putmi didn't mean it that way. He was just offering a suggestion. We couldn't possibly abandon our own comrades so easily."
"Hmph."
Seeing Augustus speak, Spade didn't say much else.
