This was the first time Roger Leonard had ever seen a woman so tenacious, and an inexplicable fondness sprouted in his heart.
KNOCK, KNOCK.
A few rhythmic knocks sounded at the office door, followed by Miss Ruth's voice, "General Leonard."
Roger's thoughts were interrupted. He adjusted his posture. "Come in."
Miss Ruth led a graceful and beautiful woman in, saying respectfully, "This is Miss Quinn. She says she's your friend and would like to see you."
Roger glanced up and broke into a hearty laugh. "Christine?"
Christine Quinn removed her sunglasses, revealing her stunningly beautiful face, and laughed softly. "Roger!"
Roger Leonard stood up and walked over to Christine, surprise evident in his voice. "What brings you to G City?"
Christine answered, "I didn't come here alone, of course."
Roger, thrilled, asked, "So Dora came too?"
"Yes, he has some business to attend to in G City. He's resting at the hotel now!"
