She was considered a thorn in their side, and so long as she lived, perhaps there was a chance of her rising up once again.
Perhaps there could come a day when the crown prince would come to his senses, so Marceline could no longer be around by then.
Perhaps the King and Queen had never agreed, and something else had happened, resulting in the degree appearing as it was, unless something had been done to make the King and Queen reconsider for a moment.
It was unknown if they would ever decide to take back their decree once they realized that they had lost someone who was keeping the Blanc Archipelago running smoothly.
Perhaps without her, the whole Archipelago would fall apart, and it would be an opportunity for the greedy noble factions to seize opportunities she had stopped in the past.
Just as things were looking to be very bad for her and her maid Bonnie, there came a noise from nearby. "Urk..."
"Aah!"
A huge man appeared with slightly tanned skin, black eyes and a long black single braided hair who was dressed in a tang suit and slippers.
He confronted the thugs alone as his huge build towered over them, causing some to become intimidated. "Swordless style... Tempest Chop!"
His hands moved around in a swift and flexible movement, allowing him to chop at the opponent closest to him, which caused one of the thugs to be sent flying back into the nearby wall. "Huh... I should have held back a little?"
A sigh escaped his lips as he moved on to confront the next thug, who hurried toward him holding a knife. "Swordless style... Tempest Claw."
The shape of his hand changed as his wrists remained quite flexible before quickly moving in to meet the attacker head-on.
The claw caught the blade, causing it to be clamped down upon, stopping it there. "Swordless Style...Tempest Push"
A palm thrust was sent out toward the thug before quickly moving on to the next person. "Tempest Burst."
"Tempest Shot."
He looked around to see most of the thugs down and unable to get back up. "Huh... these guys are so weak! I did not even get to try out the full capabilities of these techniques..."
Two thugs remained, but they had already moved back, holding knives to the throats of the two women. "Hey... Do not come here!"
Liushi sighed upon seeing such a scene. 'Aizah told me not to make a mess and to come back quietly, but it seems that is not possible now.'
His gaze became cold as he raised his two hands toward the two thugs who held the hostages in front of them. "Tempest Shot."
His fingers thrust out toward them, but this time, they did not make any contact with them.
A strong force was created, sending a wind bullet flying from each finger.
The thugs could not have anticipated such an attack, so they were hit in the head, causing instant death as their heads were penetrated in an instant.
They dropped their weapons as they fell toward the ground, causing the two women to be released.
Liushi walked toward them and then asked. "You are Marceline De Weiss, right?"
Marceline composed herself before looking toward the man in front of her. "Who are you?"
Liushi took her words as an affirmation, so he went on to explain. "Meeting someone like you has been quite difficult, and I had to wait for the right opportunity. I am glad that I saw you leave the family home earlier.
Ahem... allow me to introduce myself. I am Liushi, and I have come to escort you to a place for now. Please come with me for now; someone wishes to meet with you. It will be worth it if you come along."
Marceline studied Liushi for a moment before nodding. "I will be bringing my former maid with me. Is that okay?"
Liushi agreed quickly while leading both of them further toward the edges of the city, where a small building was. "Just to let you know what to expect... think of this as an opportunity. The person you are about to meet has been waiting to meet you."
Once Marceline entered, Liushi and Bonnie waited outside, and then Marceline saw a young woman who was seated in a red dress.
Small white wings were on her back, small antennae were made from her red hair, and she had a pair of black eyes. "Marceline De Weiss I presume? I am Aizah, the current head manager of the White Storm businesses in the New World."
Marceline narrowed her black eyes. "Hmm... I have heard of your business, but please just call me Marceline. I no longer carry the De Weiss name..."
Her eyes lowered as she said those words, which showed a hint of vulnerability.
It had not been too long since she had lost everything, so there were many things she was still struggling with.
It could be said that the whole situation had humbled her a little, and she had been able to reevaluate her life a little.
Aizah showed a polite smile. "I will be brief and straight to the point. Marceline... I want to hire you."
Marceline's black eyes widened. "You want to hire me? Have you not heard the rumours surrounding me? I am sure that my situation will only bring a group like yours a lot of problems rather than benefits."
