A very, very brief race guide

???: "A summary of the races that are part of the Arcane World, the arcanics. Also, if you don't get it, fret not! This is an auxiliary chapter, not the main course so eventually you'll understand.

» Demi-humans: Usually they are hybrids born from intercourse between a human and a different arcanic race or tribes who have been blessed by a non-humanoid god. An example of the latter are the bestials, the typical beastmen you find in many fantasy stories.

» Goblins, ogres, trolls, orcs and some giant tribes: Just like their fantasy stories counterparts and are often grouped together as 'goblinic races' or 'orc-ish races' cuz all of them are the same ugly pests with mere size variations. Yeah, uh hum, just blatant racism, yep, that's all, trust me, no other occult reason, yep, that's all, yeah.

» Mekhans: Mythical race depicted as sentient machines. Its easier to find their legends instead of those real living robots.

» Elves, dwarves and dark elves: the first two are often considered friendly while the latter is the more ostracized group because they are 'evil' and 'colluded with the Abyssals'. Do I need to warn you about prejudice here?

» Spirits, nymphs, fairies, dokkaebi, djinns, yokai, etc.: spiritual beings, often considered Lesser Deities, related with nature and the supernatural, they can be found anywhere, from the highest levels of the Heavens to the deepest bottom of the Abyss.

» Dragons and draco-reptilians: Cocky egocentric lizards with bat wings or fat snakes with chicken legs and catfish whiskers, their offspring and their nth generation of hybrid descendants. Nah, I don't hate them, just tired of seeing those annoying f-

» Celestials: Angel-like humans that live in the Heavens.

» Abyssals: Demon-like humans that live in the Abyss.

» Gods: You already expected them, right? Right? It's not like they are in the book title, right? RIGHT?!"

???: "Now the hierarchical classes of the more common arcanic factions. No big spoiler here so you can read everything safely:

» Normal inhabitants: Well, the regular denizens so no special label for them.

» Chief: The leaders of small arcanic groups/tribes/villages, similar to our mayors and obviously stronger than (magical) average joes.

» Lord: Rulers of large areas or settlements populated by a single arcanic race. As overseers of the Chiefs for a King, they represent our state/province governors.

» King: Can it be more obvious? Well, the highest authority of a race, second only to their Patron deity.

» Patron deity: Deities and/or gods who represent their races in the divine pantheons of Heaven.

Many arcanic races will have different names for their hierarchical classes but they are essentially the same. For example, the Celestial 'chiefs' are called Arch-Celestials, their 'lords' are Sancti Celestials, their 'kings' are the Angelus Celestials and their 'patron deities' are the Arkhangelus Celestials.

Another note is that some prideful races like dragons self promote their actual ranks. Dragon chiefs are called Dragon Lords, dragons of the lord level are the Dragon Kings and their 'patron deity' is the Dragon Emperor. Why? They are dragons, those geckos are a bunch of-

Aside from that, some races might have less or more class levels, but don't worry too much since if this happens, it'll be explained in the novel. However some of those will be important for the main plot so I'll elaborate on them now.

Elves, dark elves, dwarves, Abyssals & vampires and some others follow a similar system to the European nobility hierarchy in which the Baron, Viscount, Count (those three being the equivalents of the Chief class) , Marquis, Duke, Prince (their Lord classes), King and Patron Deity.

The nobility of the first three races can be summarized in high elves, shadow elves and elder dwarves respectively.

Taking this nobility hierarchical system as the base, the Abyssals go beyond and have more classes after the Prince rank: the Abyssal Archdukes, then the Abyss Heirs, the Abyss Overlord (The King) and then the Abyss Progenitor as their Patron God.

And finally the gods.

» Demigods: Despite the name they aren't as powerful as an actual half god. Sure, they are very strong, but comparing with real deities? Just some very remarkable humans since they all bleed red the same way.

» Lesser/Minor Deities: Now we have actual divine beings! Albeit the weakest of them. Even if living on the literal Heavens might sound great, for them their lives are as hard or harder than yours.

» Deities/Minor Gods: They are the average joes of the divine, but calling one of them 'low class', 'minor god' or whatever still is a terrible idea.

» Gods: You probably heard about their myths and legends, right? Here they are!

» Great Gods/ God Kings: The celebrities of each pantheon.

» Primordials: The oldest and most powerful of the gods known by the people."
