Chapter 6 - Man, F*ck Goblins

Footsteps could be heard after Flint had finished his thoughts.

'Oh, balls,' Flint grasped the baseball bat harder as the footsteps became louder. 'I feel bad for that guy who had to guard the door, I would be scared sh*tless if I kept hearing footsteps while not knowing who it belonged too. F*ck, this isn't the time to be thinking about stuff like this.'

Soon Flint could see his target, it had a small body with green skin, long pointy ears, a grotesque face with a crooked nose and an ugly smile. It wore nothing but an old rag that covered his nether regions, a putrid smell accompanied the cretin.

'A goblin...why couldn't it be slimes...' While still invisible, Flint ignored the goblin and walked slowly until he faced the entrance door. He peeked through one of the small-ish window it had, finding that there was no 'goblin chief' or something there, just some goblins wandering around, some even had weapons and wore leather armor.

'Hmm first let's follow this goblin, let's see where the most populated area with goblins are (on this floor), might even find that loot chests exist.' Sadly, Flint couldn't find any loot chests, only more goblins.

'Damn, shouldn't have run off without having a piece of paper and pen, although surprisingly, there aren't a lot of goblins here. Well it is the ground floor, but still, even with the juniors and seniors not at school at the moment, there's still around 150 somethin' students... I've only encountered 20 goblins so far, maybe they have a respawn timer? Well, I think I got the info I needed, better to be safe than sorry.'

Flint grasped the baseball bat tightly, and after convincing himself that it'll be 'ezpz', swung the bat vertically and as hard as he could. A loud *THUNK* could be be heard and soon the goblin collapsed, Flint soon followed as he fell down to the floor. As he looked at his shaking hands, Flint thought 'I didn't feel any excitement at all, just relief...?' He shook his head and now focused on the new notifications he received.

'Huh? Shouldn't it show what Level that goblin was? Guess I'll worry 'bout it later when I'm back at the auditorium.'

'Status.'

Looking at his status bar, Flint realized that he forgot to check what the updated version of gave as bonuses for forming a bond with Jake, well he hoped that it gave him a bonus that is.

'An rpg, gacha, and now a damn social sim?' Flint was thoroughly confused. He had to survive against monsters, pray to RNGesus and now he has to improve his dumpster fire of a social life to have a better chance at surviving.

"Welp, now's the time to head back. Wait, shouldn't the body be disintegrating into particles or whatnot? Dunno what would happen if I kept it here, but I don't think it would be good to bring it back to the auditorium as well, no clue if goblins can smell each others scent so I'll just drag it to an empty room."

Dragging the surprisingly heavy goblin, Flint soon made it to an empty room. He just placed the dead goblin's body in a corner, yet when he was nearing the opened door. Another goblin appeared.

'Activate

The baseball bat Flint borrowed from Jake was currently in his inventory, since he found it inconvenient to hold it while he dragged the goblin to an empty classroom.

Staggering a few steps behind, Flint braced himself as he screamed internally 'Activate !' And rolled to the left as the goblin jumped towards him, narrowly he dodged the blow that would have certainly proved fatal to him.

'Haah, ignore the pain Flint.'

Flint gritted his teeth and took a nearby wooden chair and, with all his strength, slammed it against the goblin, breaking the chair in the process.

[You have slain a Goblin]

[You have received 10 exp points]

"Take that, you *gasp* stinkin' *gasp* goblin."

Clutching his stomach, Flint dragged his tired body outside immediately, knowing that the noise from the chair breaking would attract more goblins.

After some more close calls where some goblins almost knocked into him and almost noticed him, Flint reached the entrance to the auditorium and sighed in his mind, knowing that in the end, it was his fault for not paying enough attention and caution. But he still coudn't help but mutter "Man, f*ck goblins," before opening the door.
