Chapter 7 - Chapter Five

Derek's POV

"That one at that table says lonely and Sex percentage 30%," I snapped my finger in the direction of my point of interest.

We were at our favourite hook-up club where we sat at the bar and we evaluated the take-to-bed worthiness of every girl in the club by their looks, assets and how much flavour they would bring to the bed. It was kind of a tradition of ours of which we ended up screwing the girl with the highest score in our Playbook. So far so good no one's reached the average score.

"The girl wearing the turquoise dress at that end is totally giving the greens but the guy's just too consumed in his blabbering to notice. Why is that?" I took a sip of my drink. "Either the guy's just plain dumb or gay not to notice. I mean look at her. That right there, is hot. One you would love to fuck and surely does want a good fuck. It's a straight 70%." Edwards nodded in agreement.

"Blondie over there with that sorry excuse of a man is screaming get-the-hell-outta-here in her mind right now." Swiveling my chair around to face the direction of the girl with the Douchebag, JB and Edwards did same.

"Can't say I blame her. I mean, the guy can't even say a word without the water locks of spit on her face," Edwards supplied.

"She seems fine to me," JB said with a shrug.

"Really? It's obvious as daylight she's not. You can see she's looking at anything other than him. She shifts when he comes close, her laugh…nah, doesn't reach the eyes but I can bet on anything that she's into that dude over there." I pointed at the solo clubber staring at her from the other side of the club.

A group of girls passed us then. Females attention especially those aimed at me wasn't new to me as I could spot an interest a mile away so I winked at them, giving them my lopsided smile which always came in handy as it made them giggle. I've come to know my smile is my best asset although my looks do most of the job but with the smile, they fall head over heels. I'm not going to talk about my penis size. That makes them go nuts.

The sexy group headed over to the dance floor, an invincible invitation tossed at me.

"So, which are you going to screw tonight? I bet the sexy brunette over there," Edward said pointing at a girl in the middle of the dance floor, sexy though but not up to par for me.

"Nah. Not my style. Doesn't top up my required score. I approve of that one." They followed my eyes to my point of interest.

"Guys aren't you a little too old to still do this. I mean come on, Derek, you definitely will not have a problem finding a girl. Pick one already and stick with her," JB complained. We both stared at him like he had grown another head. "There's so much joy in love. That one girl that makes you feel complete. The one that makes you…"

We busted into laughter, so hard it threw him off guard. "Please don't. You sound like my mum right now. I don't need another mum here at school. One mum is a lot more than I can handle," Edward struggled amidst laughter.

"Look, love is not for me. I'm happy for you man. You've found the woman of your dreams. The woman you want to spend the rest of life with after you graduate, good for you. As for me, I just can't waste these look," I gestured at my face, "on one woman. That's Bullshit. Already tried that once. Didn't work out well for me."

"Really?!" JB exclaimed. Edwards choked on his drink.

"It was a long time ago. No need for the drama ok? I survived. I'm over it."

"How come we're just hearing this now?" JB asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I thought we were best buddies, How come this never came up?" Edwards mumbled.

"Guys, this happened way before I knew you guys. It's past."

"Well, I sure as hell would like to know this past. You are with me on this one right, JB?"

"Absolutely. I'm all ears." He signaled for another shot of whiskey to the bartender.

"I really can't remember the deets vividly but I do remember how we met. Two years ago supposedly my second year," I took a long sip of my drink before I continued. "Her name was Ida. She was a transfer student as at then at my old school, Evergreen College, New Jersey. Boy, was a real beaut? Hell yeah. Every guy practically wanted to fuck her or date her. Well, I was among the 'want to fuck her' group and so I went for it.

I've got the looks, money, plus, I was every girl's craze. Still is, don't forget that," I said with a self-satisfied smile. "Back to the point, I went for the 'fuck' only to get smacked on the face by love. Unbelievable as it is, I was so naive back then and actually believed true love might exist."

I took a large gulp of my drink. "We met in a club, a lot like this one and she was surrounded by a group of guys all fighting for her attention. I did what any hero would have done in this story of mine, save the damsel in distress…

Flashback

"Hey, I believe this is yours. You forgot it earlier." I walked into the midst of the group of guys around her, placed something in her hand, and walked away from the group. I knew the exact moment she opened her hand because I heard her calling or rather screaming at me to stop but I kept moving until there was enough distance between us and the duchebags she was with. I turned to her.

"Excuse me, I don't know what you are playing at but I think you've got the wrong girl. These aren't mine." she threw the panties at my face and turned to leave.

"I know." I pocketed the panties.

"What?" She turned to me stunned at first and then rage took over as she was spitting fire from her ears.

"I said I know they aren't yours." Jamming my hands in my pants pockets, I smiled, self-assured at my abilities to handle situations.

She scoffed. "And here I was thinking those guys were delirious. This is the height of it," She mocked, throwing her hands in the air.

"Well, that was the only way I could get you out of there and buy you a drink."

"Excuse me!"

"Yeah, excuse you. I needed an excuse and I took it." Suppressing a sigh, "You know you needed a way out and I just gave it to you. Least you could do is have a drink with me."

She tilted her head sideways. "And what makes you so sure I would want to have a drink with you?"

"You didn't deny the fact you needed an out and since I'm never wrong as you've witnessed, you definitely want to." She gave a breathy laugh and sized me.

"You like what you see eiy? There's more to it than meets the eye," I smiled my lopsided smile.

She seemed to consider something before she then smiled at me. "Ida," she introduced with an outstretched hand which I took, placing a kiss on her knuckles.

"Derek. Friends call me Der, enemies call me Derek MacCalister."

"And what do people you just met call you?"

"I leave that to them to decide," I winked which made her chuckle.

"So Derek, I'm guessing that's your girlfriend's panties," she gestured at my pocket.

"Why don't we discuss that over that drink."

"Persistent aren't you?"

"I prefer the term strong-willed," She laughed then. "So shall we?"

"Lead the way," she said.

"I'm a man of manners. Ladies first."
