Deep within the Black Rift's expanse.
Grunts of command resounded, the sound of people that roared like a battle cry.
Hundreds, if not thousands, of soldiers could be seen gathering within the rush of the black wind, holding onto their weapons and shields with worry and fear on their faces. Passing them by behind, knights on a horse shouted with fervor, keeping them in line.
In the darkness of the black rift, only their voices could reach far, not their vision.
All of these soldiers were separated into two long lines that stretched for miles, facing one another across the open ground. Shields were locked in front of them, forming towering walls of metal and barely kept disciplined on either side—creating a long, narrow path between them.
A corridor of armored bodies and silent tension.
It was as if they were forging a road not of stone, but of men.
