Mary Scott suddenly spoke, causing David Locke's movements to freeze. It took a while for him to continue, but his breathing became increasingly harsh, failing to calm down several times. He grew agitated, and even lost control over the strength in his hands, accidentally pulling off a button with a loud snap.
David stared blankly at the dark green button in his hand, his gaze falling upon the unfastened light-colored knit sweater, looking somewhat dazed.
Mary, both shy and annoyed, scoffed softly, "What are you doing?" Her tone was playful and carried no real threat, so she closed her eyes, wanting to pull the quilt over and sleep, but heard the man beside her softly murmur, "So beautiful."
"You..." Mary was furious, and she turned over, intending to face away from David. However, the man wrapped a long arm around her, murmuring in a coaxing tone, "Take it off, it's more comfortable to sleep."
Mary glared at him, was he sure it wasn't more convenient for him if she took it off?
