That night, Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran stayed in the same room but not the same bed; both of them suffered from insomnia.
The next morning, just as the sky began to lighten, Mo Xiuchen got up from bed.
After washing up, he saw that Wen Ran was also awake and spoke softly, "Ranran, do you want to wash your face now? I'll get some water ready for you."
"I'll go to the washroom by myself."

Once Wen Ran was done washing up, Mo Xiuchen helped her back to bed and called Gu Kai. Gu Kai told him he was already on the way and would arrive in a few minutes.
"Ranran, Ah Kai will be here in a few minutes. Have some breakfast and then get some more sleep. I'll head to the police station to find Lu Zhiyan first."
