Chapter 107 - The Fallen One

In the middle of the conversation, Baron Garvey spoke with George for the first time in depth about the manor, as well as the Viscount's affairs.

It seems that before it became a forbidden place, the Viscount had some strange behavior...

One can't help but suspect that he has a deep connection with that demon.

"It all started slowly after he attended that feast of Lady Elizabeth... I don't know what happened to him on the way that made the manor become the source of calamity here. But then I judged by the time point, the beginning of the party, that is, it should be that time."

Many people went to that banquet, but what happened to the Viscount Lord was an exception. Perhaps he originally believed in the ancient gods and hid it extremely well.

But in any case, the Viscount did become very strange in the period before the change occurred at the manor.

He began to lock himself up in the attic behind closed doors, and the Viscount was heard roaring in pain, whimpering madly. This was followed by scorch marks on the carpet, long scrapes on the chandelier and the stone roof of the passageway.

Later, there were even people who swore that they saw huge red demons with horns wandering around the manor castle in the dead of night.

Then, in the midst of a violent and strange noise late one night, the servants opened the door of the Viscount's closed room in search of the sound and found that a large hole had been broken in the attic dome, and something was flying in the sky.

Some of the servants fled the manor in panic, but only one survived and escaped to Baron Daniel's castle. After that, the manor lost contact with the outside world completely.

And the servant who escaped to Baron Daniel's castle, also in the body decay gradually crazy.

He was the first desecrator found by the lords.

Baron Daniel is a devout believer, in his territory has a church. He himself had received the baptism of the seven gods.

However just in this Misty era, the most peak of the various southern territories. He who was able to defeat the Blasphemer, but after gathering a large force, he never returned.

"... Many years have passed, and many people only remember the backs of Daniel and others who left at the end in the first place."

"But everything is still just speculation on our part - some say there is a demon there, but no one has ever really seen it or seen it come out. This makes the existence of the demon all a bit doubtful... But the blasphemers are real. And of these terrible reanimators, many we have known at one time or another..."

"I don't know what could have turned so many knights and soldiers into that shape, but if there was, I'm afraid it would have to be a demon..."

"And that thing never came out after that?" George asked.

"Never." Baron Garvey aggravated his tone: "Never in all these years. But from some time ago, we found that more and more monsters gathered there, and there were profaners, and they slowly wandered out..."

After listening to George, he could not help but fall into thinking.

And just after he fell into thinking, the fire in front of his eyes suddenly flickered, gradually outlining a line of words.

[There is about this secret, I'm afraid, you can only go to that manor to find out - after all, that demon guardian valley of a 'source of calamity', so before getting the master's orders, it will never step out of that manor.

[Side Quest IV: The Mystery of the Fallen (I)]

One: You have found a 'Source of Calamity' in the valley, after destroying it, the haze hanging over the valley will be partially dispersed - Fog - 20% effect (optional)]

Two: This success will undoubtedly inspire people, and after that, the Book of Dawn will be able to collect hope from outside the shelter - the power of these hopes can only be retained for a brief period of time and cannot be used as a common application (including the Word of the Talisman), but can be used to create something special.

[Three: On that demon's head is a piece of your loot - but only if your head doesn't get hung up on the manor.]

Note: There are many more 'sources of calamity' in the valley (and in this world as well). Every time you clear one, the future calamities that this place will endure will be mitigated by one point. And have a slight impact on this world. And each additional place, the more serious the future disaster will be!

[Hint: When the source of calamity is destroyed and you happen to hold the Book of Dawn in your hand. Then people's hope will be temporarily guided over and a 'Spark of Hope' will be ignited. The 'Spark of Hope' will purify the surrounding land, evil spirits, and dispel the mists, allowing the sunlight to envelop the place again (Duration: 1 day)]

[Loot - Skull of the Fallen]

[1. Frenzy: When the warrior of demon slaying rage is unstoppable, the physique will be temporarily increased by 30% and burn 1 point of life force per second. Duration: 2 minutes. This state cannot be terminated unless they drink a lot of blood.

[2. Bloodlust: When the warriors of Demon Slayer are in a frenzy, for every enemy they kill, the knight will gain a +5 life recovery/6 seconds and have difficulty controlling their desire to kill - they crave something that bleeds more than the dead. ]

[3. Call of the Fallen: Warriors who slay demons are inevitably tainted with fallen blood. This blood, while altering their constitution (2 points) and recovery (+1 life recovery/6 seconds), also curses them and eventually lures them into becoming bloodthirsty demons!

[4. Defying Fire: Warriors who have been tainted with Fallen Blood will henceforth have a certain resistance to fire: +10 Fire Resistance]

[Negative effect: Whenever the warrior is asleep, he will be tormented by nightmares.

[Description: After this trophy is hung in the Knight's Hall, whether or not anyone has taken the oath here, those who have looked directly into the demon's eyes will forever be under the influence of the demon (3 states are inevitable). This trophy, however, will increase the confidence of all, and the light of dawn will remove the nightmare caused by the demon.]

[The Light of Dawn reminds you: you will face these things sooner or later, but hopefully you will be a little more cautious when facing it for the first time - or at least have a strong heart... Of course, whether your heart is firm or not, if you accidentally find, there is some strange little stone piece there, please don't pick it up...]

[Otherwise the light of dawn will be -1 to your satisfaction!

These words that suddenly appeared in front of his eyes made George slightly lost in thought for half a second. When he came back to his senses, he saw Baron Garvey's pleading gaze - together with him looking at George pitifully, there was also that bent over pouring wine, hot body, with long rose-colored hair 'Caitlin. Wood. Emmer' (middle name inherited from her maternal grandfather, and Caitlin's mother, the second daughter of a certain earl).

"... You know that I have no children at my knees, and although I am only a baron, my territory and the property accumulated by my family, even if it is placed in the middle of the kingdom..."

Baron Garvey's words, really George watching the light fire unfolded, he did not pay much attention at the time, so do not know why he mentioned this issue of succession. But Baron Garvey's tearful plea reminded him of Garvey's words, "I'll do anything."

As a bishop leading the Knights of the Holy Church, this kind of 'trivial matter' should naturally be dealt with. Not to mention that he has repeatedly declared that the Holy See sent him to save the people here.

However, although George in giving that light promise, feel their own scalp stiff. But he is also want to understand, the south side of the thing in the end what are some things ...

'If even these little B soldiers can't do it, then there's no hope for the valley. I might as well turn around and sack Baron Garvey's castle, take the refugees here, and return to the shelter as a shrunken turtle like that Duke Wingwind...'
