( Matt's POV )
Standing in front of the dungeon, which looked like a random cave in the middle of the desert, I equipped the rest of the armor I had obtained, the boots and shields, I strapped the hunter's sword to my belt and marched determinedly toward the dungeon.
Eris: Are you sure you don't want to go for a more manageable dungeon?
Matt: I think it's for the best, why are you so worried, is there such a big difference between a normal dungeon and an advanced one?
Eris: It depends on the level, each type of dungeon has ten difficulty levels, the normal max level dungeon is worse than a low level advanced dungeon and the levels help determine how many floors that dungeon will have.
Matt: Is this a low-level dungeon?
Eris: it is, but-
Matt : then I don't think we have a problem here.
I took out the elemental attitude pearl, and according to the description, I had to swallow the small marble to gain a power boost in my adep skills.
Matt: I wish I had something to drink right now.
Eris: The thermos you got in the gacha came filled with water.
Matt: Incredible, perfect.
I swallowed the magic pearl and then took a big gulp from my thermos, after what happened when I gained my powers I was expecting some internal pain but nothing happened, the thing even tasted like candy.
I tried using Psynergy again with another rock and now I was able to lift and throw it with enough force to cause a serious injury, then I tried something a little more advanced, concentrating on a point in front of me I raised my hand in a quick movement and a stone pillar emerged from the sand.
With these more satisfactory results I entered the dungeon full of confidence, I was welcomed into a tunnel much larger than what was seen from the outside and when I started walking Eris floated next to me and created a map on a floating screen.
Matt: Thanks for that.
Eris: If I can't stop you, I must give you all the support I can.
When some red dots suddenly appeared on the map I took cover behind a rock, the enemies were another group of three monsters, Those were semi-liquid creatures, with a pair of comically big eyes, those were slimes from the Golden Sun game, I guess that confirmed what Eris said about the dungeons being formed with energy that came from other worlds.
With this kind of enemy I did not hesitate to attack, first before they noticed me I took my time to aim and took five shots at one of the slimes and I only missed one, I don't know if I hit a vital point, those four bullets made him crumble into a puddle of slime on the ground.
For the second one, I threw my knives at him and not because I suddenly felt confident that I could hit with throwing knives, I grabbed the knives with psychic hands and directed them towards the slime, he didn't dodge but managed to survive so he used Psynegy quake, and a stone pillar lifted the slime and crashed it against the ceiling.
The last slime was able to make its way over by jumping, then it threw itself at me and I used my shields to block, I pushed the creature back and then dealt with it with my sword, I swung with all my might, the slime flew back and bounce as it hit the ground, It was hard to gauge how much damage he'd taken but I took another swing and he turned into a puddle on the ground.
The first floor was full of slimes so that was good practice for me, I saw some marble stairs and Eris informed me that that was the way to the next floor, as I approached, I felt the atmosphere change, as if I'd entered a completely different place.
Eris: Oh, you noticed it right away.
Matt: What?
Eris: Most of the connections between floors are safe zones, no monsters can enter and here you can use some special items to fully recover..
Eris threw a card in my direction, it contained a camping kit and the description was what Eris had told me, that was something I wasn't going to waste on the first floor, but my Psynergy reserves were running low so I took out a bottle of khiren water, this was an item that restores a bit of my Psynergy.
In games I was a hoarder who kept consumables like my life depended on it so there was a small doubt in me that I might need this later, but most of the time it was a pointless worry so I downed the bottle in one gulp, and luckily it had a bit of a lemonade flavor to it.
With that I went up to the second floor, there I found more interconnected tunnel systems, the map of Eris showed me a solitary enemy so I decided to try my other weapon the Themis's axe.
The enemy I encountered resembled the ones that chased me outside of the dungeon but its skin was green, and now I could recognize that thing as a goblin, when it had his back turned to me, I ran towards him and since I had never used a battle axe before, I swung it like a baseball bat and hit the creature in the center of its body, the goblin crashed into the wall and he became money for me, hat axe was the strongest weapon in my possession, but I couldn't swing it consecutively effectively, which is a big problem when I'm fighting alone, this was exactly what I wanted psychic hands for, putting the axe on the ground I tried to lift it with that hand.
The first step was not difficult, then came the important part, how hard could I swing?, I gave that a try and the axe moved as fast as the knives I had used before and the axe was able to bury itself deep into the wall.
The result was just as I imagined and I decided to use the monsters on this floor to master this new technique.
