Five years ago, the TANK laboratory exploded. Eight experiment buildings were destroyed in just fifteen seconds, leaving only one intact while all the bodyguards outside the lab were startled into action. Twenty-four test subjects fled in all directions.
The Bald Girl carried a boy of her own height on her back as she escaped into the tropical forest behind the lab.
"017."
"017."
The boy could barely open his eyes anymore. Right before the explosion, he'd been injected with some drugs.
"Don't pass out," said the girl, whose leg was injured and covered in blood. Limping with the boy on her back, she urged, "If you faint, we can't escape."
The boy spoke faintly, "Leave me..."
How could she leave him? When they were both electrocuted, they had promised to escape together.
The footsteps behind them grew nearer, accompanied by intermittent gunfire.
