At the airship, Feng Jiu's brow remained furrowed as she scanned their surroundings, but Du Fan and Leng Hua were nowhere in sight. A vague sense of foreboding arose in her heart, and she immediately summoned the contract beasts in her space.
"Fire Phoenix, Cloud Devouring."
Three beams of light appeared, and as they dissipated, the majestic Fire Phoenix and two imposing Cloud Devouring beasts stood before her.
"What's wrong?" Fire Phoenix inquired, its gaze sweeping over the area. Sensing the peculiar aura, its voice shifted slightly. "It's demonic energy!"
"Demonic energy?" Feng Jiu's eyebrow arched in surprise. "I did sense that the aura here was somewhat strange, and I couldn't utilize my spiritual energy as effectively, but I hadn't considered it to be demonic energy."
Beasts possessed an acute sensitivity to demonic energy, so if the Fire Phoenix identified it as such, its assessment was undoubtedly accurate.
