In 2025, the world changed forever. After wars, global warming and a series of disasters on Earth, creatures from ancient myths and legends began to appear - dragons, yokai, wendigo and many others. Humanity was on the verge of extinction: conventional weapons are powerless against these creatures, and more than a third of the world's population has died. But people didn't give up. Scientists around the world have joined forces and created the X-Gen preparation, which endows the chosen ones with superhuman powers and unique abilities that reflect their soul and worldview. Eight years after the great victory over the monsters, humanity reconquered its lands, pushing the threat beyond the inhabited continents.
Hunters - those who adopted the X-Gen - became the last line of defense, fighting creatures for money or under the auspices of powerful organizations. Among them stands out Alexander Fable, a 19-year-old S-rank hunter from Russia, working for the Corporation for Supernatural phenomena, his strength and abilities are shrouded in mystery, and the past hides dark secrets. But even for one of the strongest hunters, the world is not as simple as it seems: ancient creatures are becoming more and more cunning, and the boundaries between man and monster are beginning to be blurred.
